About time. Many say that the gouging is not Ford, rather the "stealerships".

Truth is, the dealerships are Ford's customer-facing representatives. And Ford does have influence.

Good post and story. I put the part of the story that sticks out to me below, where Ford basically refers to the dealership franchise agreements. About dam#ed time. But it’s comical to say that the dealership has to obey the law, and the only thing Ford will do is cut a year’s worth of model allocations for breaking the law, like really? I thought an illegal act could put a franchise in jeopardy of being revoked from just about any common sense business perspective. Why not just install blackjack tables on the dealership shop floor every Friday night and call it Ford casino night, lol.

“This behavior is not allowable under Paragraph 6 of the Sales and Service Agreement. Paragraph 6(6) states that The Dealer shall conduct DEALERSHIP OPERATIONS in a manner that will reflect favorably at all times on the reputation of the Dealer, other Company authorized dealers, the Company, COMPANY PRODUCTS and trademarks and trade names used or claimed by the Company or any of its subsidiaries. The Dealer shall avoid in every way any “bait”, deceptive, misleading confusing, or illegal advertising or business practices.”

“If it is determined that your dealership is engaging in such practices, Ford Motor Company reserves the right to redirect that dealerships allocation of the F-150 Lightning for the entirety of the 2022 MY.”
