Mav owners… anyone else got this issue or notice the big Blue and Chrome Ford oval on back tailgate emblem crumpled and rippled chrome covering. It has air bubbles/ripples on bottoms and top. Here are some pictures. Sorry not the best image so cold out.

Yep… this isn’t my first rear lid/deck/tailgate emblem defect! Lol… I’m cursed…

2008 Saturn Aura -defective and replaced no further issue
2012 Chevy Sonic LT- defective and replaced no further issue

* but how I found it… a gal lightly and accidentally tapped into the back of my Maverick at a stop light. No damage as her bumper tapped the center of the 4K tow hitch thankfully!! But during the examining… I thought it was a reflective ripple… until I touched it and the bottom is really bad, top has several smaller ripples. At this time I can’t find or believe it’s a clear plastic protectant piece from factory (you know the stuff you peel off to keep scratches off). Also, I have only washed the truck four times through a sprayer style no touch at all wash!

Hello, Gabriel! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this concern. Thanks!

Is there something about where you park your vehicles that could be contributing? It is strange you've had several vehicles do this.

I live in an area that get 70"-80" of rain and 2' of snow per year and I have never seen something like that happen on any vehicle.

I am just wondering if you park under some acidic trees or where rain runs directly off a roof or something? Or do you get unusual ice build up on your vehicles? That's bizarre. I painted mine black and it still looks good after an entire winter outdoors.

I know right… you would think! The other vehicles were defective and caught at time of purchase. This truck is babied and kept in a clean garage. It is a tad dirty from the last couple drives to work… but no trees, no major sun, and anything it is exposed to should never cause such a defect. Haven’t had any ice sit on truck. Some rain, snow, cold and warm temps usual stuff

🤷‍♂️ Well, I'm stumped. But then again, that's not a tall feat. 😁

I’m sure it’s luck of the draw!… it’s an easy fix and hope it’s a one off…
