Last weekend the wife and I drove from West GA to Pensacola FL in the Maverick XLT Hybrid. Other choice was 2021 BMW X3 All wheel drive. Wanted to find out how Maverick would do. random thoughts: About 950 miles total

1. Running 75 to 80 MPH on Expressway and 4 lane divided hi-ways. AC on the whole time. Was 100+ in FL. Got 38-40 MPG over all trip depending on where and how I was driving. Very happy

2. Cabin was very quiet, spacious and enjoyable. USB cable got phone to talk with screen and give directions using WAZE. Thumbs up

3. Bowling tournament so 2 balls and shoes in back seat. Along with cooler, 2 small overnight bags and other junk. Plenty of room and everything was out of the heat and safe while we stopped.

4. Seats were very comfortable and had good support on 400+ mile driving days.

5. Auto headlights dimmer works like a champ even on non expressway roads. DId not expect that

6. AC blows really cold. Better than BMW by a lot.

7. Reverse beeper makes people stop and stare while backing. Going forward in parking lots scares some as they do not hear me coming. Enjoy their surprised looks.

Bowling was tough.

over 2000 miles now and it gets better and better

Picked mine up today, EB though, and we leave on Friday for a trip from Orlando to Chattanooga, to the middle of Indiana. We'll certainly find out if it's a road trip vehicle lol!

I was surprised by how well the automatic headlamps work, too. I literally never have to touch it. We took a trip in our old explorer last weekend and it was kind of weird having to actually turn them on and off and manually switch the high beams. First world problems! šŸ˜‚

I just finished an unexpectedly short round trip to Tupelo, MS from the Space Coast of Florida (it was supposed to be to Yellowstone NP). Anyhow, it was a bit over 1500 miles total. I was very pleased with my 23 hybrid XLT. The bed and back seat were both loaded. Alabama was hot, as high as 102, and for most of the trip the temps were over 95, so the AC had its work cut out, and did an amazing job. Comfort was actually pretty darn good. My overall mileage was about 35, thanks to speeds of 75 - 80+, the heat, and a fully loaded truck.
Looking forward to next year when I can get out of the SE and make it all the way, and I won't hesitate to use the Mav.

I received my Lariat Lux Maverick in Orlando and immediately drove it home to Miami. Less than a month later I drove from Miami to Franklin, NC and back for my bachelor party. In June we moved from Miami to Durham, NC.

Between comfort, fuel efficiency, and technology, it’s by far the best vehicle I’ve had for these trips.

I’m driving back down to central Florida next month for a cousin’s wedding and even though my wife’s car gets slightly better highway fuel efficiency, we’ve opted to take mine for the adaptive cruise control and general comfort.

It’s an odd thing, I used to enjoy traveling for work in part because of rental cars being my only experience driving new vehicles. Now I miss my truck any time I have to rent something.
