Fiberglass topper

Am an old timer not caring for the black tonneau covers that everyone seems to prefer - I'm looking for a fiberglas paintable cover for my newly acquired Lariat, but in calling around, none of the local dealers are able to order one. Does anyone have a source for such an animal? Thanks for info if you have.

Are you talking about the full box type topper/camper/caps or are you talking about the 90s-00s style paint matched fiberglass lift up lids? I havent seen a lid but for the sport truck look have always liked them over black types. Gives it a proper custom look. For the full toppers there is A.R.E., Ranch, Jason. All of them available through their own dealer networks that sometimes overlap. The dealers can be located through the company websites. I will add that only ARE has their wesite configurator updated for the Maverick, but Jason and Ranch dealers will build them for you and offer up pictures of them.

I just this morning ordered a A.R.E. MX with about $1000 in options, match tri-coat paint, window options, roof rails, and interior cargo hangers. Total was $4062.79

Thanks Stuart & Shane. Yes, I was referring to the 90s-00s style paint matched fiberglass lift up lids. The A.R.E.web site shows a paintable folding tonneau, but no hard fiberglass one. Do not want a topper, nor a tonneau. Attempted to contact A.R.E. but was referred to local dealer who did not know if that type was made. I'll keep looking.

Yeah I have yet to see a lift up lid. Seems like they have gone out of style a bit. At this point I think you may be looking at going custom. Maybe ask around custom car shops and any boat shops you can get ahold of too. It isnt all that different than a fiberglass engine cover on a speed boat.

Yep, I guess I am out of style. . Don't think I'll spend $5K on a custom built, though.

I emailed undercover and asked if they were going to make a one piece cover like I currently have on my ram and they said it wasn't in the plans. That was about a year ago. Maybe if more people inquired we could get something in the works. They do sell color matched ones for other trucks.
