Thanks. My atv can fit in bed but someone told me it's better to have support for the rear tires so they are not only sitting on the tailgate holding by the 2 cables. and the 2 front tires is squeezing in between the wheel well (they are about 1" wider than the opening between wheel wells I think)Should be able to do it with 3 2"x8" and ¾" plywood perpendicular to the 2bys it's only 250# per tire but if you need the storage add a steel 1.5" flitch plate to the side of a 2"x4" the open end that's been rabbited on the flat to strengthen the opening. Think about it, I haven't built it but it's a box with an open front that fades the rear of the truck.
It almost sounds like a harbor freight 4x8 trailer would be safer, I bought the heavy duty one on sale, it has a tilt feature to make loading very safe without ramps.Thanks. Issue is I have no where to store the trailerIt almost sounds like a harbor freight 4x8 trailer would be safer, I bought the heavy duty one on sale, it has a tilt feature to make loading very safe without ramps.
It folds up and takes 8 square feet (2x4) but it takes a real man to stand it up, they come in 1100# & 1800#.Issue is I have no where to store the trailer
By real man... my back heard "it takes a piece of machinery to lift it up" lol.It folds up and takes 8 square feet (2x4) but it takes a real man to stand it up, they come in 1100# & 1800#.
Not sure about the weight on the tailgate, but the strap is not in a good tie down position at all.Hello, does anyone already have any plans for making a false floor to load ATV? Need to be able to hold 1000 lbs.
Where would you strap? The front strap was tied down firmly on the front bumper, so the rear was really not necessary, just adding a 2nd safetyNot sure about the weight on the tailgate, but the strap is not in a good tie down position at all.
