Canoe / kayak carry options (+ liner)

First post! Been looking at the threads -- very helpful.

We want to be able to carry a canoe and kayak. From what we've seen, it looks like these are two solid options:

Both are expensive, so we want to make sure we're making the right choice. Do either of them require an additional roofrack? Is there a way to make either one more budget-friendly? (Discounts, etc)

We're also going to put in a bed liner. Is the Duraliner (https://www.penda.com/product/duraliner-bedliner-63201zsrx/) compatible with these options?

I found a cheap roof rack on sale, mounted it onto $20 worth of lumber, it's super easy to pull the boats in/out, and probably better for aerodynamics. Of course these are short ones......

My truck was build on 9/6, estimated delivery between 10/5 and 10/11. Am considering Ford/Thule roof rack for my Kayak. Have on my Escape, hoping all I have to buy is the attachment units and use the existing crossbars. But being so late in the season here in Mass, probably a project for next spring. lol

I built my racks but the Truxedo looks a bit taller and when hauling my 11.5' Dagger kayak there is a fair amount of front and back hangover. I always prefer a bit more clearance over the roof of truck.

I have the Elevate racks and Bak Revolver X4ts Hard Roll Up Tonneau Cover w/ T-Slot Rails so there was no need to buy the t-slot rails separately. I have two 10-ft kayaks. I put one kayak flat on top of the Elevate racks with no cradles. With the racks on the lowest position, the boat clears the roof by enough, except for the antenna, which I remove for the trip. I put one kayak in the bed. It hangs over, but this works fine if tied down correctly. I wanted this setup because I can load both boats by myself. I can't load a boat onto cradles on the roof anymore.

I'm in similar situation where I want a rack for some light hauling of pvc pipes for work, surf board, and tent for camping lol. I'm currently in a DIY project, MacGyver action to get my 1x rola bed rack to work with my soft roll up tonneau cover. Hopefully works out and can send some pics and how to make it for anyone else looking to make it work without drilling into rails. kinda on the fence of even drilling the plastic top rails but ehh for added security might just do it. not like it would make a big difference of trade in/sell value if ever down the road for that. Just waiting on some hardware come in from Amazon to jump to it.
