Wondering if anyone has dealt with brake pad changes yet and if there is a parking brake retract in the menus on the truck. I had an old Passat that required some engineering using a battery for a drill and leads to get it to retract. I don’t know the maverick and it’s menus as I’m waiting for mine.

It's not in the menu. It's a combination of holding the switch with the gas pedal on the floor while turning the key off and on twice.

Push the park brake switch down, gas to the floor and key on, off, on to engage "parking brake maintainence" mode. Compress the rear caliper pistons (no turning required) and change the pads. Pump the brake pedal to seat the pads, pull up on the park brake switch, Gas pedal to the floor and cycle the key on off on to exit maintainence mode.

Turn the key to the on position, press gas pedal while pulling the e brake, while holding that turn the key off then back to the on position that should put it into parking brake maintenance mode and allow you to change pads/rotors. Same procedure to get it out of that mode except hold the parking brake to engage instead of release while following the steps.

thanks for the info. I’ll have to save it for when I do actually have the ride. Where I live ford dealers are nonexistent so a lot of diy.

anybody try putting it in service mode?

I've been tinkering trying to get it. only managed to get it into service mode once and killed my battery doing it. think there is a extra step.

found this on the ford escape forums:

https://www.fordescape.org/threads/...tronic-parking-brake-maintenance-mode.117360/
I was able to go into maintenance mode the normal way but could not go back to EPB mode so for the 2020 escape you need to add another step....ignition on gas pedal to the floor brake switch up THEN PRESS BRAKE PEDAL AT LEAST 1 SEC then ignition off then back on within 5 sec then release the switch and gas pedal and it went back to EPB mode.
I am thinking that you have to do the extra step to get into and out of EBS mode on the maverick.

OK - so I bought a USB/OBD-II interface, plugged in to my laptop, bought the 12-month license for FORscan. Selected "Service Functions" and scrolled down to the "Activate EPB Maintenance Mode". The parking brake actuators retracted. Was then able to push the pistons back into the caliper, and complete the brake job as required.
I have not confirmed if we have that function in forscan for the mavericks yet either
