Elastic Strap Under Folding Soft Tonneau Cover

This is my first truck and first tonneau cover. I'd like to put something like an elastic strap across the underside of the center section of the cover. I have a large, flat and light item I'd want to slide in and keep up away from the floor of the bed.

Is this a bad idea for some reason I'm not considering?

Any suggestions on an appropriate solution? Clips that could fit into the rails?

I noticed that my tri-folding soft cover gets sucked up some in the front when doing 70mph so not sure tucking something there would be a good idea.

Any chance it would fit behind the rear seat?

Thanks, but it wouldn't fit behind the seat.

But maybe I didn't describe what I'm trying to do very well . I want it right in the middle of the bed area, inside the bed/cover area, but up tight underneath the cover.

Not sure how well this will show, but I ended up just putting a few holes into the tonneau cross sports and literally hooked straps across.
