Soft shell aren't bad at all. It's just a habit of getting use to setting up and breaking down. Then you'll get in a rhythm with that typical routine. I live in the dessert and I've had this set up for the past year. The original Tepui cover was lacerated by some homeless; who tried to break in the RTT.I like this. I'm between a few RTT's and awnings atm. I wish I could rock a softshell but it wouldn't hold up since it's not shaded where I park and I'd be lazy to take it off to store it when I don't use it
It's a pretty decent comfort to where you can just lay down and crash out because you're that dead tired. How comfortable is it to sleep in the tent up there? I have always wondered lol
I appreciate it man!
Thanks for the info! Most of them I’ve seen a weight limit and I’m like dang, how can a couple sleep up there?! Ha. I definitely want to look into a basic setup. It's a pretty decent comfort to where you can just lay down and crash out because you're that dead tired. But the RTT comes with a 2.5" maybe 3" high density foam mattress. But I can always add more (like a memory foam). For now it's not that bad. It's doing its job. My son and I can actually sleep in here comfortably. I usually bring a couple of comforters and weighted blankets (in case it gets too cold), a pair of memory pillows and we're good good to go!

Wow that’s really tricked out! I love the big awning! Brand? We are waiting for our Maverick Lariat Lux …it’s gonna have a James Baroud RTT ….View attachment 53118
Had an opportunity to attend my very 1st Overland Expo West in my whole entire life. It was so much fun! Found the only Ford Mav that was built with all the bells and whistles within a week! Sitting on a 2" Ford Ranger lift kit with fully fabricated Go Fast Campers. Quite stunning I must add!

Meanwhile, here's mine with its first 945 miles on the clock. I didn't even expect to pick one up at my local Ford dealership here in Sin City. I didn't mind the mark up price; then I decided to change my mind when someone had canceled their order. I was just hoping to get the XLT Hybrid on order or waiting list. But love every bit of it ... that 2.0T EB!
