With the will and budget, ANYTHING can happen.
My dad and I put an old school 5.0L in a 1974 Mazda RX4. Fun fact: the Wankel engine that came out was 50 lbs heavier than the V8 that went in.
You do realize the Old 16 valve 5.0 302 is nowhere near as wide as the 32 Valve Coyote V-8? Without hacking up the Mavericks firewall to convert it to RWD I don't see it happening!!

What would be the benefit of the V8 besides a little smoother?
If done right, additional power and fuel economy. Esoterically, I’m highly inclined towards an engine that has a lack of negative torque.
