Not particularly (if at all) functional, but I think it looks pretty cool. Quality was better than what I was expecting for an item that only had 5 reviews. It was $48 when I purchased it but is now $56. Not exactly cheap., but I've made more questionable purchases than this.

@flyswatter with young kids using the door sill as a step it becomes very functional. I had my Paint Protection Film installer put some strips of PPF there.

This is a good point. I didn't think of kids, as I just step directly into the foot well.
