Ford put out a memo to the dealers last week. It stated the dealers were now going to to be sent the information about our private offer. Tim Bartz read it on his you tube show. You may or may not still get that partcular email. It's in the 3rd paragraph, towards the end. It's not a great copy. Thanks for your reply. THEORETICALLY it appears as; I should just wait for an email from Ford (presumably before September 15) then take it to my dealer, sort it out, re-sign, and he puts me back in line (hopefully not losing my place). Is that about it?
It's ROVP not COVP
Actually Ford corporate does call it COVP as per the notice above. I believe that ROVP was used initially for MY22 orders but now it seems that Ford has settled on COVP for all customer orders. I'm sure Tim could explain better.Yes, you are correct. Sadly, even my dealer calls it a COVP. I just gave up because so many call it that.
I wasn't aware of that. Ya need a playbook with Ford Mav orders. I've heard it called both, but that makes sense. Wow, I posted that and didn't catch it.Actually Ford corporate does call it COVP as per the notice above. Customer Order Verification Process
What power does a customer have that could prevent a dealer from cancelling an order? If a dealer wants to cancel your order to make you pay more toward a new '23 order, they are going to cancel your order regardless of what you tell them. You're assuming they have a plan. I think they're only plan is that they know what a disaster the Bronco roll-over was, so they need to do something different. I suspect part of the '22 production extension is the hope that they can get all, or at least most, of the outstanding orders pushed through. The fewer roll-overs they need to deal with, the easier it will be.
The one fact that has come out is under no circumstances let your dealer cancel your '22 order until you have that private offer in hand. Also, don't remove any options you really want (like Lux and/or 360) as that will affect the private offer $ amount.
