Does 2023 Maverick have issue with the open space behind rear tire?

For those that have gotten their 23 Maverick can you tell me if Ford has addressed the issue with the open space behind the rear tire. I can't remember if it's behind the drivers side or passengers but it causes sand, snow, and debris to be thrown up into the tail light housing. Hoping that Ford took care of this. Thanks

Not sure of the concern or the "issue" being referenced...but when I take my driver's side inverter/LED panel out of my 2023 Lariat, I can see straight down to the ground...so certainly "stuff" could come upwards in that area. The passenger side has the cubby, but I suppose you can still splash stuff up in there. The taillights, of course, are pretty well sealed up.

Same as 22. Have 23 lariat with twin cubbies. Installed cover on driver side when I added OEM hitch.
