Hello all. I did search for this sorry if I missed an existing answer.

I ordered a 2025 Lariat and wanted to apply a DIY BAP after it arrives. I would rather purchase an already-blacked grille and front bumper and swap them out. Or if those aren't available, get whatever replacement grille and front bumper I can, paint them and swap them out. So either way I'll have the original parts.

Are these available for purchase anywhere - any recommendations? I do want to black my wheels as well but will probably experiment with dipping.

Also - I have seen some tutorials on removing the chrome from the taillights relatively easy. Has anyone done a DIY BAP and can you suggest if the stock headlights look good with it unmodified, or if you recommend a replacement front headlight that looks better? My understanding is that modifying the front headlight is riskier than the taillight and I would rather not risk messing something up and then have to replace the headlights anyway.

The reason I didn't purchase the BAP is because I didn't like the black seats. I get that it maybe matches a little better with the exterior, but I just didn't like them. You don't really see the interior and exterior at the same time anyway.

Hey.

I haven't seen any BAP parts that weren't extremely expensive; it just depends on how much you would be willing to pay. I'd personally go the DIY route.

The taillights are extremely easy to DIY BAP using ZEP industrial degreaser. I followed this guide for my taillights and the cabin light, and they came out beautifully. It completely transformed the tail end of the truck.

I'm still looking at a solution for the headlights as Lamin-X doesn't offer a pre-cut film for the '25. They are also sealed, and I am unwilling to pull them apart to do the same treatment I did to the taillights. I'm going to experiment with a dry-application shadow black tint and heat gun this weekend to see if it holds on the slanted corners of the '25 headlights.

I personally wouldn't bother with spending extra money on the BAP grille and bumper, unless you can find them for cheap, which is unlikely. The differences are very minimal from the base package. If you're dead set on them, I think the most cost-effective option would probably be to source parts from a totaled one without front-end damage.

I bought a 2025 XL and would pass on the bumper; however, I am waiting on the second someone fabricates and sells an OEM-like Ford honeycomb grill for the '25, as that would probably be a day-one purchase for me.

So this tail light process is safe on the 2025 lariat with the LED elements inside? I too love the blackout look but hate black interiors 🤮

as for the front end the one part of the bumper that is not black is available for only $155 but I haven’t located the ones that are already black if you want to just swap vs purchase/paint/swap. Part #SZ6Z-17232-AAPTM

I'm not sure if it's safe on the lariat. I have a base model XL, and after you disassemble and disconnect the taillight assembly, the taillight and cabin light come off completely, and have no electronic components inside.

I actually looked at my taillight today and they are already “blacked out”. No shiny chrome in there that I can see 🤷🏽‍♂️

My headlights don't have much chrome in them either. They already look good as is, I just want a darker, more aggressive look because I have a black street truck. I already tinted my side markers.

I wrapped my headlights two weekends ago with a smoke black dry application tint, and it peeled on the edges because I didn't heat it enough and wrap around the edges deep enough. I'm going to try again this weekend, when I install my strut tower brace. I'll upload pictures if you're interested.

Hope you know a crooked inspection place. Virginia requires amber side markers. Also when you get hit after dark your insurance CAN deny coverage. Just an FYI.
I do. Crooked inspection places in VA are a dime a dozen. Especially out in the country, near where my family is. Thanks for the heads up, though.

The side markers are tinted in a very light smoke tint and still appear amber and project amber light, so I don't think it would be an issue. If there ever were one, I would just remove them.

As far as the headlights, that's a good point. I may just leave them as is. Lord knows you don't want to make dealing with insurance any harder than it already is in the event that something happens.

For clarification, it is a light smoked tint. In your personal opinion, do you think headlight tint like this would warrant problems with insurance? I know it's technically illegal in Virginia, but there are cars that come from factory with this level of headlight tint, so I can't imagine it being an issue.

From the time I had them previously installed, the light output was nearly the same as stock, so it's not a safety issue, but the idea of being hassled by insurance does make me second-guess reapplying.

I received my truck last week and am very happy with the look. I can confirm that for the 25 Lariat at least, the headlights and taillights do not need any changes for DIY BAP. Wouldn't be surprised if they are the exact same for BAP. Even the tailgate logo has black. I am happy I did not get BAP as I did not want the black seats, and now I don't even feel that compelled to do it because it looks very good as is, pretty much half-blacked already. I might paint the wheels and bumper one day, we'll see. Also, I didn't particularly care the black roof, but if I wanted that one day, it seems like it would be the easiest wrap job ever.
