I like that alternative Tailgate design, but I think i would prefer less of the Lego pegs showing since they don't show much else on the build. Here are a couple other ideas I had for tailgates. (also have transparent red tail lights on this render, considering that option.

I call this one Fangs (your design plus a 4x1 tile):

And this one the Square

I am also considering color matched side mirrors and handles since that is how my Avalanche Grey Maverick was before it got totalled. But idk ifI like the look as much or not. I will probably buy enough parts to try everything lol

In case you were curious, the reason I went with the studs showing on my design was to mimic the stamped "MAVERICK" on the tailgate as well as the angled pattern as closely as is reasonable with the limited size options. I also chose a non-transparent taillight assembly as I wanted it to match the headlights, which had to be non-transparent due to piece limitations. Of course I support any personal interpretations if you do build it though! I love that you're taking your own spin on it, and hope you enjoy it!

Thats a good point, I hadn't thought about it that way. And I appraciate you sharing you insight into your reasoning for the deisgn elements, I was curious. I had been entertaining the idea of having a friend with a Cricut cut me out the text Maverick to put on the back if I had it flat. But I am still torn on how I am going to build it. I am considering buying all the parts so i can try it all the ways and then decide.

And for the tail lights that does make since. I had looked to see if there were clear options for the front when i was tinkering with it, and was sad when i saw there weren't any. I had assumed the reason you didn't go with transparent tail lights was because you chose red for the body, and the transparent sorta blended in with that. But that does make since. I think I will probably buy both and compare in person lol.
