I have on order a '24 XL. I have never seen a Maverick bed in person; will do so for first time when the vehicle is delivered.
I want to add bed floor D-Rings in the position that Ford has put them on them on all other models of Maverick - one each side on bed floor at front of bed.
Question: Can after market D-Rings be secured with carriage bolts through bed floor to a nuts & washers under the bed? The two holes in the base for the D-rings are square so I can get the carriage bolts to grip. Can I get under the bed to put a nut/washer on a bolt? Or is the fuel tank in the way? Is there any access?
If there is no access and there is something under there, then what length of an M8-1.25 bolt can I use (once I've tapped the existing holes) without damaging the truck or hitting the fuel tank?
Thanks in advance.
