Check engine icon

In the past week my 22 xl hybrid indicated a “check engine” icon appeared twice. The first time I went to the dealer and it was resolved as a “computer reprogram”. A week later it reappeared. I’ve seen on line that the icon can be removed and perhaps my system error could be temperamental. I went to the 12volt battery and disconnected the (-) terminal then turned the head light switch “on”. After reconnecting the (-) terminal the icon disappeared. I’ll write again and report back the resolution after the dealer does an oil change for me.

“Check engine” reappeared the day prior to my Ford dealer appointment. Faulty sensor...replaced under warranty.
