Brought home my new Maverick on May 18. On Tuesday morning May 21 I ordered a Tuxedo Sentry CT tonneau cover, Diode Dynamics Fog Lights, Bedrug Impact Bed Mat, and Husky Liners X-act Contour Floor Liners all from RealTruck. They gave me a very nice discount on the package deal. The fog lights arrived Thursday morning via UPS and the other three items arrived in the afternoon via Fed-Ex. I was amazed at how fast they arrived.

I also ordered front and rear Mudflaps from Ford using Ford Pass points. They arrived Friday morning via UPS. One more item I bought was the console trays which also arrived on Friday via USPS.

So, with boxes piled up everywhere I began the buildup of my Maverick.

Bedrug Impact Bed Mat: Bed Mat was a lot simpler, take out of box and roll out into bed. I was a little disappointed, I was expecting a carpet like material, instead it is more like a closed cell bubble pack. The bed mat is supposed to be attached using self-adhesive Velcro strips. Rather than using the Velcro provide, I attached the rug using the rear bed cleats and the top row of the tailgate access panel bolts. The fit is near perfect, and it does feel nice when you crawl in the bed. Time will tell how it holds up.

I put plastic washers under the bolts so they didn't cause as deep a depression. I used a mat from HomeDepot and cut as needed. Saw someone else in here who did it.

Husky Liners X-act Contour Floor Liners: Installed quickly, fit perfectly, happy. My wife has a 2020 Escape Titanium with EcoBoost, it has the Ford Floor Liners. Out of curiosity, I tried the Escape front floor liners in the Maverick and they fit perfectly. The Husky liners reach higher the Ford liners

Tuxedo Sentry CT tonneau cover: Took about an hour to install. What is not to like about it! Excellent fit, functions as one would hope and looks spectacular. Spent a lot of time on this site reading opinions and viewing all your posted pictures to assist it making my choice. Thank you all for leading the way.

Interior Rear View Mirror: Being used to self-dimming interior rear view mirrors that is necessary upgrade. I already had a self-dimming mirror with compass and temperature so until I can find one with Homelink it will do. Since it wires the same it will make changing it out to one with Homelink easier. I have to thank the members here for posting their how-to. It made wiring the mirror a snap.

Ford Maverick Mud Flaps: Used up some Ford Pass points for front and rear mud flaps. Ordered on Wednesday, arrived on Friday. After reading other members’ installations, I wanted to avoid the flaps rubbing the paint. I had some Ford clear urethane film and decided to place the film under the mud flap where it contacted the paint surface. Took a little extra time, but I believe it will pay dividends down the road.

The rear mud flaps have metal braces that stabilize the inside lower corners of the flaps. They are steel and not knowing what rust protection they offer I decided to powder coat them black, gaining extra protection in a vulnerable area.

Diode Dynamic Fog Lights: I was surprised to find no instructions in the box, I was aware of the instructional video, so I brought my laptop into the garage and started the disassembly. Taking the front of a new truck apart is a little unsettling to say the least. The disassembly went according to the video except for a factory clip on each side where the bumper meets fender. 3-10mm bolts hold the two pieces together, there is also a plastic retainer that has a tab on each side that needs to be compressed to slide out of the hole in the fender. I used a large screwdriver to push the tabs in so the bumper would release from the fender.

Diode Dynamics Fog lights: With the bumper sitting on sawhorses, the next step is cutting out the fake pods on each side. The video shows using the inner fog light retainer to mark the bumper cut-out area. Taking another deep breath, I used a Dremel cut-off wheel to make the cut. At that point there was no turning back. I had to enlarge the opening to get a good fit on the fog light housing. Take your time and continually check to get a good fit. I was impressed with how well the housing matched the bumper.

Diode Dynamics Fog lights: Wiring has proved to be an issue; without a wiring schematic I had a tough time understanding what all the connections were for. Friday afternoon I placed a call to Diode Dynamics, the line was busy, so I left a voice mail. I received a call back from Casey just before they closed (Memorial Day Weekend). I started by asking if instructions were left out, no she said, we do not include instructions in the box. I asked some general wiring questions and got an explanation of what the basic function was for each connection. Casey was wonderful and on top of their products, she also emailed me wiring schematics and page by page instructions.

Diode Dynamics uses trigger wires to turn on the fog lights. The trigger wires switch relays on/off.

The first wire (blue) splices into the passenger side marker, its function is to turn the fog lights on whenever the lights are turned on.

The second wire (long white wire) splices into the passenger side headlight, its function is to turn off the fog lights when the high beams turn on.

I do not want to have my fog lights on all the time. I want a simple on/off switch to control the fog lights when I desire them. Do be aware that it is illegal to have fog lights and hi-beams on simultaneously.

So, my simple switch uses the feed from the DD relay to the off side of the switch and a 12-volt power wire feeds the on side of the switch. Now I turn them on when I want them on.

I agree. Came to same conclusion 2 weeks ago with no regrets. Love the Falcon. My first car was a 1962 Falcon.

I think you lucked out, I have friends that have carpeted matts in there F150s and when wet stink/stain because they take forever to dry. And they are getting wet, all tonneau covers leak. There's a utube video that shows how to seal your Mav before installing your cover I think it was real truck, there are seams that have to be caulked on top where plastic trim meet helps alot. Good luck with your truck ,Love mine 2 years old last week.

CurtisB I thought about spacers as I was tightening the bolts, and your post has me rethinking adding them. Thank you.

WJOHNM I have been Ceramic coating the Maverick this week and spent some time in the bed on my knees. The Bed Rug is very comfy. Your comment about carpet type stinking has me liking it better. Thank you.

Finally got a mini 3 fuse tap to power up my Diode Dynamics fog lamps. It was somewhat of a battle trying to get the tap into a tight spot, but I won. At dusk I went out into the driveway to aim the lights. took longer to make a tool (need a nine-inch-long Philip screwdriver, welded a Phillips tip onto a 1/4" rod) to reach the adjusters than it took to adjust them. As you can see in the photo the lamps through a wide pattern that is clipped at the top. I was parked in front of the left garage door and the beam travels a good distance to the side. Exactly what a good fog light is suppose to do. Very impressed with the quality, design and function of the Diode Dynamics Maverick fog lamps.

I spent three days applying Adams Ceramic coating to my Maverick. I applied it to every part of the truck. Sheet metal, glass, plastic bumpers, headlights and taillights. Did the door jams as well. It was time consuming, and my arms still ache but hopefully worth the effort. I first washed the truck with Ford Detail Wash decontamination cleaner, followed by clay barring the surfaces. The Adams kit I used has a surface prep spray on cleaner that is a final cleaning of the paint, I did one area at a time. Then the Ceramic coat is applied in small sections, wait 2-3 minutes and then buff the surface. Glad that project in done.
