you could see many new Chinese EV/PHEV cars in California and BYD has a small headquarter in LA they could import some cars as dealer demo car.

And Mexico residents could drive their Mexico car into California for 1 year max.

Good point, I was thinking about the car selling in CA but I suppose you might see Mexicans driving them across the border. I know people have said they see that little Ram pickup from Mexico in CA from time to time.

China have truck ban policy preventing pickup style vehicle driving in city downtown so pickup at this high price point would not sold a lot in China and BYD have no plan to sell there yet. But BYD SUV with same platform have no policy limit and sold from $40K.

Wow very interesting. I am on the fence about tariffs. On one hand I know why we need them.

On the other I am sure domestic manufacturers take advantage of them.

We still have a chicken tax. Only thing it affects is pickup trucks. Last remnants of a tax that was about chicken.
