Good morning all, looks like I'm going to be a Maverick Boy. My wife and I moved down to Mexico a few years ago and brought our JK Wrangler. This June we'll become permanent residents and can no longer have our foreign plated vehicle, so we just sold it in Austin. After flying back down here I was looking for something smallish with 4 seats, 4 doors, AWD, and some ground clearance. We were looking at mid-sized trucks and smaller SUVs (Ranger, Bronco Sport, Tacoma, Hilux) but would have had to wait 3-12 months.

I had no idea what a Maverick was, but the Ford guy recommended I look at one. Down here you don't get to spec out a specific set of options, you just have packages: XLT has the basic interior, 2.0 Boost, and FWD / Lariat is the nice interior, 2.0 Boost, AWD, sliding rear window, 360 Copilot, and some other bits (but not the full Lariat Lux group of options). I wanted AWD to be able to get around some of the cobblestone hills and mountain dirt roads and there were 4-5 available to order from the dealer.

Long story short I've never physically laid a hand on one, but my Carbonized Gray Lariat should arrive next week!
Purchase price $750,000 MXN (~$36,950 USD including the 16% IVA).

I'm looking forward to adding a plus sized set of A/Ts after a few months and finding other cool things to do!

Welcome!

I bet a few (many) future Maverick owners would each send you a few bucks towards your Lariat if you drove over to the factory and helped load the multitude of Mavericks sitting on the factory lots unto the rail cars.

I was down in Mexico the last month and saw one Maverick with Mexican license plates out there. I was surprised because while I knew there were plans to sell them in Latin America, I didnt know they had already started delivering them. Congratulations on your purchase!

Let's hope the Mav becomes the world car Ford wants it to be. More parts, more builds, more forum posting. Enthusiasts rejoice.💃

I assure you the stories of US delivery delays, dealer markups, and 2022 orders being closed played a strong role in my quick purchase decision!

We're moving on Mexico time, but our Maverick arrived at the dealer last Wednesday. I initiated the wire transfer and paid the licensing Friday.

We should be driving it by Tuesday! I was happy to see it was actually carbon gray - it was just listed as "gris," but we like both the carbon and cactus grays.

My wife and I got to play with it a bit in the back of the dealership before they prepped it. While I haven't driven it yet so far we are happy.
