I have been waiting for my XL hybrid since Nov 2021. Had a canceled VIN rolled to 2023. Today my son brought me to a dealership and handed me the keys to a Maverick XLT Hybrid LUX with moon roof and all the bells and whistles. He had ordered a Maverick in November 2021 as well when he feared his Bronco 2 door wouldn't happen. He never canceled his Maverick order even though he has had his 2 door Bronco for a year. He gave me a great birthday surprise complete with a custom license plate with the number of days I waited followed by the word DAYS. He even custom made a plate frame with "Waited for".... at the top. Maybe no one other than Maverick and Bronco owners/future owners will get the joke but it was well thought out.

First of all, congrats on a beautiful truck you will enjoy for years to come. Secondly, happy birthday and trust you have many more to come. Most importantly, thank you for such a heartwarming story. All we do is to read daily about a younger generation who lives selfishly, irresponsible and dependent on parents and grandparents for everything. Sadly, I see some of that in family and friends, You are blessed beyond measure to have someone that cares.

Even as a stranger in Texas, your son has warmed my heart. He is an unsung hero to put mom first. Doing right is never wrong. This gives me a ray of hope that others will show love for parents. Not every son can give mom a Maverick, but they can give her a hug and thanks.

May God’s richest blessings abide on you and your son.

Wonderful story to share with everyone, thank you (and your son) for that!

I think that most children wish to have the ability to take care of their parents in some fashion once they are grown themselves; it is always nice to have stories to reaffirm that. I have become financially stable enough to tell my parents this past summer that they don't have to worry about their monthly cell phone bill anymore. That's not nearly as impressive as a vehicle, but I can definitely understand the pride and gratification that your son also feels in being able to take care of his mom above and beyond what is normally expected as "good son" behavior.

Enjoy every (s)mile and memory in your new Maverick!

This is so wholesome. And the license plate is such an amazing touch. Congratulations!

Talk about a feed good story for the Holidays! Congrats on raising a thoughtful and loving son who has obviously achieved success in life already but did not lose sight of his priorities along the way. Bravo!
