Prayers going out to Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin, # 3, 24 yrs old, who made a tackle, got up and almost immediately collapsed at 8:55 pm eastern. According to reporters on scene CPR was administered prior to him being transported by EMS at 9:25 pm eastern. The game has been temporarily suspended since, but appears it will be canceled tonight.


Edit - Game was officially postponed at 10:06 pm. NFL statement said Damar Hamlin is in critical condition.

I'm not a Bengals fan, I was watching it because I'm in the championship for my FF league and my opponent has two Bengals players. I don't even care about the championship, I hope he pulls through. That was heartbreaking to watch especially with all the players there seeing their friend go down.

@NoVaJimmy I'm neither a Bengals or Bills fan, but was watching anticipating an action packed game between two rival teams. Still reeling from watching Damar get up from the tackle and then almost immediately collapse and everything that came after.
I applaud Bills and Bengals coaches and players for not trying to continue to play.

Agreed on the decision, that would have been terrible, I was worried Goodell would push for them to keep playing.

Bills tweeted this overnight which is encouraging for a good outcome:
"Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition."

Honestly one of the most disturbing things I've seen over a lifetime of watching sports. I actually said out loud "Oh my God, please be okay." So glad to hear he's doing much better.

@Showtel So thankful Damar is recovering as well as he is. He was very fortunate to receive early/quick CPR and defibrillation which restarted his heart.
This young lady was not as fortunate. Prayers for her family and for Damar's continued recovery.
