This morning I noticed for first time a short chime / beep when shifting into Park. Never noticed this before. Anyone else noticing the same ?

No, I'm not shifting to reverse and no recent recall work.

I've noticed the same with mine. I think it's from passing through reverse and it activates the rear park aid very quickly for that split second. I've wondered about it too.

I think it's an audible reminder that you've successfully rotated the shift knob into Park. I don't notice it unless I turn the knob past Park and it chimes as if to say, "Hey stupid! You're already in Park, ya knob!" :geek:

Couple times now I’ve pulled into my driveway and changed the AC fan speed thinking I was putting into park.

I’ll eventually get used to the dial in between the seats đŸ€Ł

And I am constantly pressing the temp control knob to turn the truck on or off.

Does anyone have a definitive answer to this question? Some Bronco Sports are doing the same thing. I have tried to figure out why it does this. It happens about half of the time I shift into park. I know it is not because I tried to rotate past park, as stated above. I can get the beep by slowing rotating the shift knob into park. The Bronco Sport owner‘s manual even has a note in the transmission section that the vehicle may produce a tone when shifting into park, but it gives zero explanation about why it would do this or under what conditions it will occur. I have even called Ford, and they said it may be an indication something is wrong and to take it in for service. This is silly when there is even a note about it in the owner’s manual. I am starting to think this is another Ford software bug they don’t want to cop to.

My guess is that it's an alert that you're in Park. It's a feature, not a bug. :) I haven't noticed it on my Maverick, though.

I wonder if I can add this feature to my Maverick.

Well, it’s a feature that only works about half the time then.
