The material is soft, but sturdy. A sharp utility knife did the trick. The material is also breathable, so no moisture is trapped underneath. I can also roll it up and remove to clean underneath if I need to. I now have a hard tonneau cover and I have found that it really gets hot in that space and quickly evaporates any moisture. Please be careful while cutting!
