So, today I replaced my ?factory? (well, ford) 12v battery with a new AGM battery because the old battery was not staying charged and the truck went into sleep mode on the daily. When I removed the old battery it appears as though the (old) positive battery cable was cut and replaced. More interestingly perhaps, the new cable seems to be of smaller diameter than the old one.
I am not the original owner so have no clear indication of what this could be but it certainly isn't original factory work. Was this a ford recall of some sort? I have heard of a battery cable recall but the carfax listed nothing of that recall being performed. Perhaps a previous owner mod? Any thoughts on what this might be and if I should be concerned? Now I'm thinking there may be more to my charging problems than just poor programming...
Thanks in advance!
