I’m looking for some help before I install my eibach lowering springs for my AWD Mav. Does anyone have pics of their cut bump stops for the front struts? The instructions show to cut them but I’m unsure which side to use after I cut them. Also for the rear bump stops do they need to be cut also?

Did the swap recently on my hybrid, so similar. Had to cut the fronts only and Eibach provided a proper replacement for the rear. The very basic instruction sheet included should tell you what to do.

As it originally sits in the strut, you are cutting the bottom part off and keeping the top. It grows denser from bottom to top, so you want to keep the denser section, for more absorption. And these things act more like progressive springs and not really just bump stops. Be sure to seat them back in position, as they should stay in place at the top (although any good bump will probably jam them back in position anyway).

Many install videos seem to omit this step and I’m sure things will be fine, just that the ride will be firmer than it should be.

yea I have the instructions but wasn’t sure what piece to disregard once cut. So thank you for letting me know which one disregard and what one to use. Also like you said I watched a few YouTube videos and none have shown the cutting of the bump stops. I also wasn’t sure about the rear bump stop because a few pics I saw the springs come with replacement bump stops for the rear but mine didn’t. Seems like the AWD don’t come with them and you leave the factory ones in and they don’t need to be cut.
