Are 2023 trucks all sold

I know they shut the order books down for the 2023 trucks but does it mean they are all sold or adding up what is sold just to see where they stand?

Sounds like they will build some for dealer lots as well... Probably EcoBoost with non-constraint features. No sense Idling the factory while waiting for parts if they can keep building trucks with less options.

They might now have 2 years of production orders on the books. So if you order quick you might get a 2024 model.

They're not sold to the dealer until they're built, and can't legally be sold to the end customer until they're on the dealer lot.

Nor is all production capacity spoken for. Even after retail orders are halted, dealers will still be able to put in orders for dealer stock. Those orders will generally be built only if the dealer has allocation and no eligible retail orders to be scheduled.

Ford won't be able to square away the likely fact that more than half the retail orders in the 2023 cycle were for the Hybrid, but only slated 35% to be Hybrids for the MY2023 production run.

There will be people stuck waiting for their Hybrids unless if they have the opportunity to switch to Ecoboost to get their order scheduled. Whether or not Ford will be able to communicate that out to the customers given their recent track record of clownery seems unlikely to me.
