I just installed this cheap ebay one yesterday.
for $120 it’s quite impressive imo, I’ve had gator, truxedo and a hard folding cover and this is on par with all of them.

That's the same one I have. While thinking about this, I finally stopped at the hardware store today and spent the $2 to replace the slipping quick release knobs with locking M6-1.00 fasteners. I still think the clamps are kinda janky, but they work, and the tonneau does function really well for the price. Should last 3, maybe 4 years, I hope.

I'm looking at getting a tonneau cover to provide a covered cargo area to keep rain and wind off stuff like groceries and whatever else I might be carrying. (I've seen the many threads about water intrusion and I understand nothing is likely to be completely watertight.) Price is definitely a factor. I'd like to have the full bed length available above the rails if needed, without removing the cover completely, so I'm looking at soft roll-up covers or might consider a tri-fold if it folds flat against the back window. (I'd love a retractable hard cover, but can't justify the >$700 price.)

For context, I recently traded my 15-year-loved Honda Ridgeline for a '24 Maverick. I love the Mav but I'm missing my in-bed trunk. 😁

I've seen some off-brand or no-name tonneau covers on Amazon for around $160 and on eBay as low as $120. As they say, you get what you pay for, so while the price is tempting, I'm concerned about the quality and durability over time. Has anyone had any experience with these, good or bad? Or can you recommend a cover under $200? I'll be shopping Prime Day deals this week, so hopefully some will come down in price. It's not a need per se, just an upgrade, so I want to keep the cost down as much as I can while getting something that won't turn out to be cheap junk.

I bought this one from Amazon and have been very happy with it. It's a little more than you want to spend, but might be worth it...

I bought a Truxedo, which is made in the USA. It is purportedly a heavier marine grade vinyl than most imports. So far I am very content with it. It was about $350 with tax.
