Hey all!! My name is Ed and I just became a new owner on Thursday. After two months of searching the middle Tennessee area, I finally found the 2025 Lariat Hybrid I was looking for. It's velocity blue with the 4k towing package. Since Thursday I've been ordering things left and right. First thing was a hard trifold tonneau cover. After that came a lot of small stuff that should arrive at various times in the coming week. I have to go and pick up the OEM floor mats later this week two.

My Dad used to work for Ford many years ago at the Mahwah, NJ assembly plant. He started on the line and worked his way into the office before retiring. As a result of his affiliation with Ford, I became a Chevy man. Aside from my first car, a '58 Fairlane, I have never owned a Ford til last week. The hybrid is what caught my eye(and wallet). I wanted a small pickup with lots of safety features. That gave me only 2 real choices. The Maverick, and a Hyundai Santa Cruz. My wife drives a Santa Fe, so being familiar with the brand, I was leaning that way until I discover the Hybrid.

Glad to be around like minded people and hope to be able to pick up a lot of information.

Welcome to the fold. Sounds like a nice rig. I really love my 24 XLT Hybrid. Getting 45 MPG. Great Ride, Comfy Interior, can haul what I need. Mostly my 2 labs and grand kids. It is a blast to drive.

Send some pics!

In addition to the tonneau cover I would recommend a tailgate damper (aka tailgate assist). A bit fiddly to install, but worth every penny.

Thanks for the suggestion! That damper is on the list. Want to get a few other things put in place first.

Installation of the tailgate assist requires removal of the factory tie-down bracket on the driver's side of the gate which interferes with the strut. But it's a shame to lose a tie-down point. I made a replacement tie-down for mine.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. Enjoyed making it enough that I keep making more. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum if anyone would like one. Don't lose a tie-down point!
