Accessory Port

Quick question, please. How long does the accessory port (old cigarette lighter) stay on after the truck is shut off? I have a dash cam that stays on when I turn the truck off, but eventually goes off. Just wondering if I'm using my battery or should I just turn off the dash cam manually when I turn the truck off? Thanks a lot.

I think it’s something like 30 minutes. I changed it to 5

I’ve worried about this too. I’ve just unplugged my dash cam when I turn off the truck just to be safe but it’s a pain.

The truck has a battery management system that will turn off the power to auxiliary power like the 12v long before it will affect your ability to start your truck again. It's safe to leave it plugged in.
