I work for a fence company and picked up a vinyl 2x6 rail and cut it to length. Weighs practically nothing and the price was right. It's white, but it's in the bed and I can live with it.

How theft proof is the cover? I am planning on keeping an expensive mountain bike in the bed and need to be sure someone can’t knife their way in?

No one’s broken into mine yet. I’m sure with any of these covers someone super dedicated could break in, but it’ll be hard. The metal slats cover it tightly, so someone couldn’t just knife in. They really have to work at getting in, which is a pretty big deterrent.
