I have sync 4 on the 8 inch screen in my truck now. I will be swapping to the 13 inch screen eventually when I can find the parts. Even though every truck is different, I would like to compare asbuilts to speed up installation.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing this write up. Can you include your APIM config file? Were there any other module configs that you needed to change for this to work? Do you have any DTCs present with the new APIM?
Thanks
Sam
I think it is the same response time from the sync 3 system. Subtle visual differences from sync 3. The important thing is that you hard reset but do not reset ford pass from the vehicle or it will not pair back to your account. I’ve been using sync 4 for over 7 months and the wireless CarPlay...

Helped with wind noise and also makes driving in the rain nicer.
Mordfaverick and I have successfully swapped SYNC 3 in the lariat with SYNC 4. FordPass is now working because we had not removed pins 41 and 42 on the APIM connector. This was documented in the OP but later in this thread OP claims that you only need to remove pins 53 an 54 on the APIM to swap...
I wanted to post an update. I’ve gotten my SYNC 4 asbuilt the way I want it. Everything works except FordPass. I swapped the SYNC 3 APIM back in to reactivate FordPass. After putting back the SYNC 4 APIM it seems that FordPass is not able to connect. I'm waiting for @mordfaverick to try with his...
I have 2022 Ecoboost Lariat lux that I'm trying to upgrade to SYNC 4. This thread has been very helpful. I will probably start a new thread for the lariat because this is an old thread and it looks like the origin creators are not active anymore. I'm having an issue with the asbuilt APIM where...
I am also facing this issue. I began reverting my setup back to stock but no luck yet. I had extra drive modes, disable double honk, and TSR enabled. I also have been under the center console and moved the bed outlet inside the cubby. But still the same DTC B1330:9A. The inverter does power up...
I also just got this check engine light with evap system. Eco 4k fx4 built around 9/22. 12000 miles. I have not noticed an mpg drop yet tho. Will be taking into dealer soon and need to schedule appt.
I think the different parts mainly have to do with the angle of the center console for the different models. Idk why the actual top opening is slightly different tho. That should not change
I don’t have a picture of wiring all connected but it’s basically tapping off of the existing wiring to the footwell light. Three connections made. I used wago connectors but you could also splice into wiring.
I used all three wires from the existing lighting, which I believe are 12v, some PWM/ignition signal, and ground. I made some harnesses out of JST connectors and wired together with wago connectors. The cup holder dims with the cabin but has less increments of brightness. Your idea to tap off...
So this cup holder is not a drop in replacement so it has the inserts so not match the alignment tabs and that’s why you need to remove. I was able to drill holes in the cup holder to align with the center console mounting posts and attached with stock screws and some coarse wood screws that...
Hi all,
I am trying to add oem-like upgrades to the Maverick and I came across this thread where someone was referencing a Bronco Sport thread about adding ambient lighting to the cupholder. Old thread, but I dug a bit and found that the regular Bronco forum (this thread), someone had swapped in...

Edit: sorry just reread and saw that you figured this out.
This is where things get a little out of hand. When I was removing the c-pillar trim to replace the rear speakers, I did not do enough research on how to take the trim off and ripped off all but one clip. I was able to glue them all back on and have had no issues, but while everything was apart...
