They may not block us from making changes, but I have read where after having recall fixes, e.g. potential tail light outages, programming done to the BCM was reverted back and the owner had to reprogram their changes again.
Not sure if that was a question, but if it is, I enabled TSR and disabled the block that Ford placed on changing music from a USB stick while the vehicle is in motion via Forscan. There were other things I changed, but that's what comes to mind.
I was concerned about the longevity of the headlamps and the exorbitant cost of replacement, too. I wound up replacing the parking lights with switchbacks and changed the DRLs to use those via Forscan. Problem solved.
I ordered the sliding rear window as well, knowing that I'd be transporting lumber and other long items. It sure has come in handy, and well worth the price.
I would sign up so you can get all the Ford points that come with your vehicle purchase. Buy some accessories with them, use them up, and then terminate it.
I ended up replacing the Ford LED with another 12v LED indicator, 2 pack for $2.39 on Temu, so that I could mount it on the dash next to the ambient light sensor. It's much more visible to anyone approaching the vehicle from the front, and it's where automobile manufacturers usually mount them...
With my XLT Hybrid, sometimes I have to keep increasing the temp setting to make it comfortable, and even then I feel cool air coming out of the dash vents. I was wondering if maybe this only happens when running on electric, and will monitor this to find out.
I bought an aftermarket roll-up cover, not the tri-fold style. I noticed the shuddering with mine, too, but at the tailgate end. It surprisingly keeps water out of the bed so I figured it was just normal operation at higher speeds. But I could be wrong because I never had a tonneau cover before...
My 2023 XLT did not come with rear car floor mats. I went to Dollar Tree and for $1.25 each side, cut their mats to notch out for the front seat framing. Works great to keep the carpet clean and if something should spill on the mat I'll just replace it. Easy solution.
The LED mountings people have shared in this thread look nice, indeed.
But I'd really like to mount mine on the dashboard, ideally near the center or as close as the wiring will allow. I don't want a potential thief to have to look very hard for the light. Has anyone mounted theirs in this way...
I had the same experience on my XLT. I got through the VSS Learning to vehicle alright, but then found that the Shock Sensor Sensitivity Adjustment did nothing. I bought the optional LED and connected it to the VSS module. Tried the VSS Functional Test, and the LED never lit up. Called the...
@EONR24, This is what I have. I changed the 1st 4 numbers from 9100 to 9000 after reviewing the codes so generously posted. The checksums seem to be auto-generated.
