Doesn’t matter to me. I don’t have a dog in the fight. Seemed that a few comments were insinuating that 50% was enough. I was just pointing out that the OP never stated a % amount. Lasfit should do what they feel is best for their company.
Great news!
It would be nice if Ford had a recall instead of having individuals struggle with the dealerships to get them to even address the problem and then only fix 1 Maverick at a time.
I think it really depends on the actual dealership you’re dealing with. I screwed around with Ford and the dealership that I bought the truck from for over 6 months with no support whatsoever.
Supposedly the Ford engineers told the dealership that the first thing to check would be the wheels...
Had front axle replaced end of May and have had not wobble/shimmy since. I have no lift and only now have 3,000mi. Based upon my results and what I’m reading I thinking all of these shake issues are due to bad axles.
UPDATE: I picked up my Maverick yesterday and all seems to be fixed. I’ve attached pictures of the parts that were replaced. I hope this helps someone.
UPDATE: Well it seems we may be getting closer to a resolution. Ford dealership performed the vibration testing but said it was inconclusive. The mechanic checked it all over himself and concluded it is a bad front axle. Ford engineering agreed so parts have been order and received.
Taking it...
UPDATE: Took the Maverick to a different Ford dealership last week. They did feel the shake and set up contact with Ford engineers.
Dealership called me back to set up an appointment for drop off and loaner pickup. They said they’d need to have it for a while for testing. Said they were going...
I’m not really feeling anything in the steering, mainly in the seat/floorboard. Just a smooth, medium speed side to side wobble, not fast or slow movement.
I can see there are different things that might make this happen BUT…outside of them test driving and rebalancing the rear tires I’m not...
UPDATE: Just got off the phone with the Ford Customer Service Rep. They said that the Ford Engineers have determined that the wobble “it’s a characteristic of the Maverick” and there is no further action they will be taking.
I told them that I have no idea how they could possibly come to that...
UPDATE: Another Maverick Lariat come into the dealership for a 5,000 mi oil change that has the same wobble as mine but worse (per the dealership). They are reaching out to Ford Engineers for advice but are now considering this a “characteristic of this vehicle.”
Well, after some pushback on the Ford Customer Service rep and the local dealership they finally agreed that the bolt pattern for Mavericks, Broncos, and some other Ford products are all 5x108 (5x4.25) and they should be able to find a set they can use on mine to determine if my wheels are the...
UPDATE. After a few more conversations with the Ford Customer Service Manager that was assigned to my case # and the local dealership the following has been determined:
1. the Customer Service Manager is the communication go between for the customer and dealership only, 2. The Ford engineers...
Hope you have better luck than I’ve had so far. I’ve had quite a few conversations with Ford Customer Service and the local Ford dealership but so far have had a lot of talk and no action.
