I just sold my JetSki after making the move from NY to TX. Received a certified bank check and we met at my bank. Had the teller call his bank to verify the check, deposited and went to the parking lot to unhook it from the Maverick. Even if you take cash, meet at the bank and have it verified...
This is beautiful! I just made a move across the country and my parents are keeping watch over my 2022 Maverick until I fly back to grab it (luckily I don't need a car right this second and they take it out once a week).
But ... I found myself really looking at old rangers and f150s just last...
Gtechniq CSL topped with EXO. I use the C2 as a maintenance protection product every few months and have washed with various different products/brands (Gtechniq, Gyeon, Bilt Hamber, Sonax to name a few).
My 2022 has not had any issues, but I do keep my coated. I know you mentioned that you wax it twice a year, but I would check the product you are using. If you actually mean a wax (carnauba) it will not last 6 months, especially on a daily driver. Traditional carnauba waxes only last around 3-4...
This one is interesting for sure. Im doing to use a dongle with the Vivo on my wife's Escape for a similar setup, but I wonder how the one you mentioned would work with the Mav. Everything I have seen is without the auto dimming mirror more wiring work would be needed though.
Thank you! The setup in the wifes escape should be easy tapping into her autodimming rear view, so I figured it would be a nice test before picking one up for the mav, especially in this south Texas heat.
For sure! My wife has the auto dimming mirror in her Escape, so the Donger adapter looks perfect. For the Mav though, I am going to need to read up on hard wiring as that is not something I have done before.
Hello everyone! I was looking at Dash Cams and the information here is great, but wanted to narrow down the search. It is important that the dash cam can take the south Texas heat, turns off when you turn the vehicle off and has loop recording. I am just looking at a front facing camera at this...
Meguiar's does make some great products. They were about to release a coating, but that ended up never being released. Instead they have stuck to the sio2 based sealants like the Hybrid Ceramic.
Never said anything different. If you enjoy a paste wax that lasts a few weeks, that's certainly a great option for you. I personally love the way paste waxes look as well, I just value a coating as it is more durable and offers much better protection than a traditional paste wax. But, I applied...
LOL you laugh but I see it daily. All of the major brands in the industry do not help either with their, come check out this "hybrid ceramic sealant wax".
Ceramics will protect from imperfections and light scratches (i.e. swirls and spider webbing, wash induced imperfections, etc.). Full on scratches will need a PPF.
Coatings 100% do more than move water off the paint surface.
Just like waxes and sealants, I would apply a coating myself. If I was looking for even more protection, I would save more and opt for a ppf for sure, especially since you can change the color of the vehicle in the process.
And here is the issue with the industry. These are not coatings. These are sio2 based sealants or coating toppers. Just like these products, a coating has Si02, but at a much higher rate. These spray on products are great though, just do not expect to have the same durability as a coating.
Dealer applied "ceramic" is generally not even a coating. Just like most of the dealer add on items, they use it to pull more money from the customer.
A good shop that applies a quality coating can be over $1K, but that is due to the extensive prep and polishing process beforehand. If anyone is...
Not all waxes, just like not all coatings provide UV protection. But, if you are comparing protection from swirls, scratches, etc. than coatings do provide a better and more durable layer of protection. This is backed by science and is pretty easy to look up.
For paint correction, clay bar has...
This product is great, but it is not a coating. Love Meguiar's just throwing in all the tag words they can for marketing purposes. But ... if you want something that has a little Si02 in the formula, but applies like liquid waxes or sealants for a more traditional application feel then this is...
