So far, most of my miles have been short trips around town on local roads maybe 25 miles at a time or stop and go in city traffic. I'm heading out on vacation for my first long freeway trip, about 700 miles each way. Anything I need to keep an eye on, or drive in a particular method or drive...
If someone can set me straight, two questions please.
2025 XLT AWD hybrid.
When the EV coach says "Charging," is the vehicle actually being powered by the batteries or by the ICE?
When going down a long, steep hill, and assuming the EV batteries are already charged to the max, the Coach says...

Ford execs say they made a mistake when they replaced human engineers with AI
Ford admits AI couldn't replace experienced engineers, rehiring veterans to improve quality and cut recall costs...
2025 XLT Hybrid AWD.
When I hit the Start button, the A/C comes on automatically (which I don't want to happen). I looked around but can't find a setting to turn that off. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
I've searched around the forums and skimmed over the owner's manual, and there doesn't seem to be a way to actually get a reading on the battery pack charge level. Am I missing something?

I'm looking to add taller "sidewalls" to my Mav so I can load it up with firewood. I thinking about placing a piece of plywood on each side of the bed, to about the height of the cab..
Anybody done this? What's the best way to mount/secure the vertical plywood side to the sidewalls of the bed...
I know I've seen this discussed, but the site search isn't finding anything relevant (May be "operator error.")
Anyway, I installed this 12v power outlet in the bed, and it stays on for at least 20 minutes after I turn off the engine/hybrid. Is this "normal?"
Apologize if this is addressed elsewhere, I searched but didn't find anything relevant.
My driveway at home has a pretty good down slope to it, and it's a tight fit to avoid hitting the garden next to the garage. When I back in, I have to open the door a bit to get a good look down at the edge...
New owner of a 2025 Mav XLT AWD Hybrid here and today I poked my head underneath to have a look at the spare tire. Much to my surprise and shock, it sure looks like the hot exhaust from the tail pipe is melting some of the plastic just below it. I've only got 1500 miles on it, mostly highway...
While checking for parts for a Honda Civic I have, just out of curiosity I checked for Maverick parts too.
I found it interesting that none of the five largest salvage yards near me have a single Maverick on the lot. I guess that's a good sign? :)
Noob here, trying to set up some cross bed dividers and I'm not sure what Ford had in mind with these holes in the bed.
Am I supposed to somehow secure the 2x4 or 2x6 to the bed using these holes?
What am I missing here?
Thanks.
New Mav owner here, I'm stocking up the truck with a small tool kit to take on the road,.
I've got the standard metric wrench and socket kit, screw drivers, etc. and the Torx+ driver bits.
What's the one tool that I'm likely to forget to pack to take care of maintenance or get me out of a jam?
New 2025 XLT Mav owner here, so I have to ask, why are there so many open holes in the bed sidewall?
I'm guessing they're for accessories or features for the top of the line trim vehicles, but why are some of the holes plugged and some are open? Isn't that an invitation for snow/rain to get in...
