Hey hows it going?
I kept using mobil 1 5w-30 extended performance oil. Now it's winter and I want to try this 0w-30 oil. The only mobil 1 I can find is this advanced fuel economy version, the other being ESP which is for European cars. Does anyone know if I can use this oil? Will only use it...
Hi all,
my maverick 2.0L, which is 18 months old, is approaching 60k which is recommended transmission fluid change. Wondering, how much will this fluid change cost at the dealer? Is it easy enough for DIY? I change oil all the time but have not changed tranny fluid.
Since 90% of my driving is...
Need to get a tablet holder for long drives. It can not block the maverick's own screen. Due to the textured surface of the dash I doubt any suction cup type holder will work. Any ideas?
There's this small pocket/trough in the center. Is there a holder that can snag into this space?
My maverick is still less than one year old and I've been able to put about 25k miles on it. Still a few years from 150k mark but I heard this engine needs some expensive service around 150k. It seems ford design these engines with a goal of lasting only 150k miles so a lot of things may need...
Today I did my 3rd oil change for my maverick. Odometer reading 19058, almost 3 months since my last oil change which was in Sept.
I've drove almost 10k miles in this time span.
The oil life reading was 28%. It was reset in Sept.
The oil I use this time was 0w-30 mobil one. Chose 0w because...
Any possibility of 20 inch rims? According to my calculation it should be 50 aspect ratio. I go with 235 instead of 225 because 20 inch rims are usually wider. I think they are all 8.5 inch wide. Maybe even need 245 width tires.
I just realized, from another post, that I can use 225 60 R18 tires and 18 inch rims. What about 19 inch? It will certainly make it look nicer. If 19 inch rim according to my calculation the tire size has to be 225/55/R19. I understand the less blackwall on the tire will make the ride bumpier...
Hi,
Just wondering if I buy a set of 18 inch wheels, and 18 inch tires, can I just put them on my MAVERICK XL which has factory 17 inch wheels? I understand it will probably make ECU confused and gives wrong information(like speed, mileage etc) since ECU doesn't know you switched to 18 inch...
Hi all,
thinking of changing my factory all season tires to winter tires before the first snow. the factory tire size is 225/65/r17.
I've found some good brand 235/65/r17 snow/ice tires at my local mavis discount. Wondering if those tires will fit without any modification? Will the extra 10mm...
I did my breakin oil change at 4258 miles, with mobil 1 advanced full synthetic. But I did not reset the oil life at that time. Just curious when it's time to change the oil according to onbaord computer.
Yesterday I changed oil again at 9782 miles. This is my second oil change on this maverick...
I've read somewhere that someone's saying you must change your oil every 5k, because the gas will blow past oil ring and dilute the oil.
Sounds terrifying. Ford engineers didn't realize this when they design the engine?
Plus, if you think hard, even if some gas do get into the oil, what will...
I've always used mobil 1 with satisfying results in the past. My last vehicle surpassed 300k before I traded it in.
Now I'm seeing Pennzoil has this made from natural gas hype. Supposedly you get more uniform oil molecules if you make it from natural gas.
Will this work better? Pennzoil has a...
Hi All,
My next oil change will be somewhere in the winter.
In our part of the country, the northeast, the winter can get quite cold.
My truck doesn't have a garage to park in, so it will start in the cold.
Wondering if I use 0w-30 instead of the recommended 5w-30 for this winter oil change...
After almost 6k miles, my 2.0 ecoboost AWD's oil life is still at 53%.
That means, to make it go to 15% (which is probably where the oil life monitor trigger the oil change warning), I'd passed 10k miles.
I did change my oil at 4258 miles, but I didn't reset the oil life monitor. Just curious...
Hi all,
I did the first oil change today, at 4258 miles.
Dash oil life is saying i have 68% oil life remaining.
The oil I used was the mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-30 which meets all the ford requirements. It cost just a little more than the motorcraft blend at walmart. Why not use full synthetic...
Found out I can't default to ECO mode. Every time I start the engine it's in normal mode. I have to press the big button a few times to get to ECO.
A nuisance! But what does ECO even do? I can't find any difference in terms of mileage between ECO and Normal driving modes.
I guess it makes sense...
I've had my 2.0 ecoboost AWD maverick for a little more than a month. Had already put 3k miles on it. Most of them highway(75%).
I just checked oil life on the dash. It says it's still 80%. Thats odd! That means the oil change interval will be over 10k when the car tells you to do an oil...
Hi all,
For 2.0 ecoboost engine, the recommended oil from FORD is Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend. Wondering if Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-30 will also work? I prefer full synthetic. Just don't know if FORD is OK with mobil 1.
Thanks.
I got this new 2023 ecoboost AWD XL (base) trim. Only upgrade was the AWD package.
According to EPA, the mileage should be 23/29/25. 23 being local, 29 highway, 25 mixed.
I live in the suburbs of a moderate size city.
After a few weeks driving, according to the digital trip meter, I'm getting on...
Hi, I'm going to do an early oil change(around 2k). Got my maverick 2.0 awd last month.
It seems if I want to change oil the traditional way, I have to jack up the car, then remove the underbody shield. Lots of work
Can I suck out the oil with a oil change pump from the dipstick tube(I will...
