  1. Creating "dog mode"

Cooling fans [compact] used in computer towers are available in 12 volt DC. You might use this to help circulate air, plug into aux power in front console. Sliding rear window? Open that for circulation. Water bowl for dog.
  2. Flange nut left over after oil change

Examine it close-up and carefully for wrench or socket marks on the outer surfaces. If it looks pristine, then I go with the school of guessers here that says it fell down during the assembly process.
  3. Backseat Mod

I second Maverick OCD's dog cover. What I like is that it forms a "U" because it attaches to the front headrests. This means stuff doesn't fall down plus creates space in the footwell for tools etc. I purchased a simple one on Amazon for $39. I put tool boxes, power tools etc. on it since I...
  4. New (to me!) 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid Terrain

In 2022, I purchased my original 22 Mav EB new off the lot from Fritts Ford while I awaited my hybrid. Good dealer experience and worth the 95 mile drive.
  5. Gas MPG stays from 31.4 to 31.6

My stock 22 Lariat EB, 18" Michelins at 35 psi, I was in that range using 87 octane. 91 didn't change that. I was happy with 31.+ highway in that peppy 2.0 EB. So based on my experience, you are right where you should be. Enjoy it, don't obsess.
  6. How fussy about washing?

First, the Mav's paint is normal, with top clearcoat. It shines, it scratches etc. Garaged or not garaged ? Trees with sap or not? You are in a mild climage, no salt, etc. sooo; Don't make the wash process so complex that you dread it. A simple pail, non-scratch towel or mitt, hose with spray...
  7. wanting a LineX bed liner...which one?

Go basic LineX. I’ve had 4 trucks with them. Show your local LineX dealer that Ford charges $495 as an option, offer to pay cash and you will be pleased.
  8. Bike Transport Options

Personally I don't like the way hanging something off the back on a rack makes the truck handle. Have you considered walking the bikes up on a ramp? A 2x12 might work before you commit to an aluminium one? You will leave the tailgate down and strap one bike to each side of the bed. This...
  9. Auto locking door when not in truck

RE: Only the driver's door locks - if we are talking about the same thing, I determined in my case it was user error. When I reached for the unlock lever on the driver's door, I rolled my left hand to the right and inadvertently hit the lock lever just above. It didn't take much pressure but...
  10. 110 Volt Outlet in Maverick XL?

The 110v outlet has very limited use. I think the one in my Mav bed can support about a 3.3 amp load. So maybe it will recharge the batteries on your cordless tools? It won't power a blender for a tailgate party. Perhaps the aftermarket inverter for 110v will have greater capacity? Then there...
  11. Good use for slot in floor console

...plus there is a plastic clip on the sunvisor that can serve the same purpose; hold parking lot tickets, credit card while you wait in line to fill at Costco, toll road tickets, etc. etc.
  12. Yes folks, there is HVAC to the rear seats. Big Thanks to FOSSIL 👍

I recall, the OP on this subject a few days ago had to do with getting A/C and circulating air to kids in the back seat. I've been thinking about airflow. I am wondering if a small fan based on those used to cool computers, using the mounting bracket on the back of the console to mount, could...
  13. Prolong Engine Treatment

At the risk of igniting a long string of back and forths, my answer is I have never used it or any additives nor will I. Over the years I have read several articles and read my owner's manuals that say to avoid additives. Bottom line is, it is snake oil. My words, not theirs. The best...
  14. 2024 Hybrid exhaust pipe what the heck is this???

That article on new resonator technology was fascinating. I noticed "it" when I was under my truck the other day ho humming about fabricating a shield for the cavity behind the D/S rear wheel. Now I know the purpose!
  15. No start, no dash information, unable to shift trans out of park. 2022 Lariat Hybrid

For what its worth, I was told that the scent of Bounce dryer sheets confuses rodent smell ability. That makes the truck unattractive to them. Staple them around a hose etc. away from moving parts under the hood. Must change them every few weeks or when scent isn't noticable.
  16. Has anyone extended Hvac venting to back seat?

Yeah, my bad. Sometimes I read and scroll through several responses and hit reply on the one I last read which isn't the OP so my response is a non-sequitur.
  17. Info sought changing blower fan on 24 Mav XLT Hybrid

Outside of disconnect the battery before you start, I got nothin'.
  18. Driver's side door locks itself

RE: Drivers door only locked = Yes, I had several instances of this both in my 2022 EB and in my 2024 hybrid. I concluded it is user error. I noted how I grasped the door lever. I tend to roll my hand to the left and inadvertently engage the lock lever that is just above the door lever. It...
  19. Finally got to drive it.

RE: Oil change - there are many posts about when, etc. If this is your first hybrid vehicle, I just want to point out there is hybrid-specific engine oil. Notice as you drive around town that the temp guage for the ICE seldom gets up to "normal" 4 bar range and it varies between two and four...
  20. Has anyone extended Hvac venting to back seat?

Also consider a small 12v. cooling fan to help cool the kiddo. I have no specific suggestions. I have not researched the subject but certainly you aren't the first person wanting this. Perhaps there is a [small, 12 v. ] squirrel cage style that can either be mounted under a seat or in the...
