Good day
Now, "I am not an economist, but I play one on TV..."
:)
So here is a thought on your hope on inflation positively affecting your nation's debt load and its ability to pay it off.
If our countries did not keep borrowing untold dollars every year and managed to get by on what...
Good day
I was thinking early this morning, about those who have reported in that their 12 volt power ports shut down immediately upon shutting their truck down.
The best way to check out each truck individually by the owner (as they may have depleted/degraded batteries) is to meter the 12...
I have the rear outlets from @Maverick_Innovation_Designs 12volt power port and the voltage indicator and USB A/USB C ports in the back of my truck box....he has improved ones out now but I am very happy with the ones we ordered last year! Great quality.
I hope all goes well with your...
Good day 2024ash
Thanks for confirming some of your info on your truck.
May I ask a bit more? Do you have a multi-meter (and comfortable using one) to check your 12 volt battery voltage once everything is shut down on your truck and the battery has had time to "relax"?
"Relaxed" is the...
Yep, the information provided by @BlueSpec1 looked like it answered many of your questions!
I will still need to sit down and labour through it all at a snails pace.
Interesting info was that sitting with engine running, it provides 400 watts of power, but driving I think it only provides...
Thank you, what an informative post!
I know I will have to re-read it a few more times to try to absorb all the information, but very interesting indeed.
Thanks again,
Andy
Hello again, @MakinDoForNow
So I tried to find out for you but wasn't able to get my meter probes into the bed 120 volt blade openings, they are pretty restrictive.
Please remember my electrical expertise is...not expert!
I tried clamping each of the two wires on the bach side of the...
Wonderful, Ken!
I am glad you were helped out following Mavster Mechanics discovery of the turning headlights on trick, and the other things that have been learned here on MTC.
And of course it is best to charge the battery completely...no use doing a whole relearn process with a...
Good day
I will just quickly jump in here to say driving alone may not charge the battery sufficiently before doing the relearn!
I would suggest getting a smart charger capable of at least 4-5 amps and must be AGM appropriate.
Hook it up and charge the dickens out of the battery so...
Good day @MakinDoForNow
Hats off and thank you for your service, and as a medic you had a very important job...helping others that can't help themselves anymore.
I have heard and read about thea type of LZ prep and it makes sense as you have to get as close to the wounded as possible...
Good day
It seemed logical it would all be on one circuit with one fuse, so going with that.
I have taken it as far as I can with my truck, as I have vocalized exactly what my truck is...year, model, hybrid, a fully charged 12 volt battery confirmed, after all my checking it out.
So now...
Good morning, @MakinDoForNow
I will try to check that later today if I get a chance...
Wow, you brought back some memories with your plumbing story.
We used to have to also pound a steel rod into the ground, but this was when we would set up a FARP...or Forward Area Refueling Point...
Good morning, @2024ash
Yes, for my truck, which is a 2025 Lariat Hybrid, I have a truck that keeps its 12 volt power "on" for approximately 90 minutes after I have shut it down. I had removed all loads prior to testing.
I used a clamp meter around the 12 volt power point wire in the rear...
Good day
Okay, I just finished several hours of messing with the truck in the garage...gotta like it!
All in trying to see if 12 volt power is or isn't present if no loads plugged i to the 12 volt ports.
I have used my truck, a 2025 Lariat hybrid that has had all updates that are...
Good day
It looks like I will have to do a bit of research on how a hybrid truck with an ignition switch works, to figure out how you can use the engine cycling of and on as needed to support your High Voltage battery.
I do believe you were just using your 12 volt battery but I am not an...
Good day, @Tailender
I am now circling back to your post...I read it earlier when you posted it, but have been working on other things till now (and have had time to ponder over it).
So, you said you left your "power on" while you were at the drive in, and this was to charge your battery...
Good day
Troubleshooting is a fun exercise and to me doesn't mean there is a problem...the fun is the figuring out what is happening and why.
If I had a truck on the opposite side if the fence in this problem, here is what I would do.
(First, before beginning ensure your 12 volt...
Good day
I am in the same boat as you, as in our power stays on to the 12 volt ports inside and outside the truck till the 70/90 minutes timer runs out...I may have to sit and stare at my truck to see what the actual time is!
That said, I do have one power port in the left rear of our...
It may have been a write-off, but there is still so much value in the truck...everything but the front end is harvest-able if the truck is not repairable...everything from the doors, panels, windows, controllers, you name it....tires, rims, catalytic converter...I could go on.
Someone will...
Good day
You may have seen the thread "Hybrid 12 volt battery solved" by @Mavster Mechanic already, but if you haven't yet, turn on your park lights or headlights (day and night) to help keep your battery charged...a little hack that helps many Maverick Owners...myself included.
Have a...
