Havent checked mine recently but I've been going between 26 and 28. My new commute is going to be a lot more highway and less stop-start through town so maybe that will improve it.
It's been better than my old taurus, much as I liked that thing it was a boat. I could barely get 22 in town with...
I did something like this to my bike once. Ran 93 in it for a couple of tanks (6 gallons about 500 miles) and when i went back to 91 the mpg was significantly improved for a while, in the range of about 10% but i think the ECU woke up again and figured out my trick.
So I've only had it for a month or so now but there's a few minor features I like and it might not be one people think of unless they've had it as a problem before.
One is the dash texture. It seems to really well reduce glare on the windshield which was pretty awful on the fusion I had...
Slick does sound like it'd be the most likely option because it'll likely soften throttle response to avoid spin-out.
Otherwise the old fashioned eco-mode of "bein real careful" still works
You could also tailgate in middle position and put a sheet of cheap wood in the middle for the support if you didnt have time to cut boards to set up the brace system. Then slap the drywall on top of that. Its how they ship the drywall to begin with.
Yea this is how mine goes. I think it basically sets heat to "max" for the first minute or so and then goes down to an average to maintain the heat level
I want to blame a bad connection in the tailgate. Something like letting the tailgate slam down and an already loose connector rattled out more. Don't know how you'd fix it but ifnits under warranty id bet they would know how to get in there if you dont want to.
If the camera itself was dead...
I've got the dash cam and taken a peek down there. I can find the OBD connector but the thing I was really wondering about is on the ecoboost, will I need the phantom ignition module? I haven't popped the side panel yet so I don't know if perhaps it's behind that and I just haven't seen it yet...
I had a little volvo once, it was fun to drive but a mechanical mess. I still have the disassembled Variable valve timing gear on my night stand since the dumb thing cost me a thousand bucks to replace. I barely got that much back when I traded it in.
I don't know if I'd say the maverick is...
I can handle it pretty easily but I considered it at one point. It would be pretty convenient and isn't really a difficult option to plug in yourself. If my joints get much worse maybe it'll be more attractive. For now, the tailgate isn't that heavy really
I know VW is working on new trucks but I think mostly for the euro market. And they're working with Ford so I think theyre in cahoots and bet we dont see them here because of that.
I've always kind of wanted a Kubellll..er.. Thing in a way. The people who have some of those now take care...
The "van-like" curves and loamy profile will be a turnoff I think. They could re-package it maybe. Looks more like an open back town&country than "a beeg ol RAAAM pickup"
That's my snap take at least
Making PHEV the sticking point is what killed it. The hybrid mavericks battery is pretty small. You'd need to really start shifting things and compromising to fit a bigger one too. Like no back seat storage or no back seats depending how big the battery.
Chevy can make a no frills vehicle...
If you can't get a bed liner and you're going to haul something that might be abrasive and will knock around a bit. You could find some cheap rugs/towels/carpet segments and use them as a buffer.
Otherwise bed liner obviously.
You have to do one of two things
plug it in to heat the batteries
or let the batteries eat their charge to heat themselves. But if you don't have it set up to do that or run out of charge while the batteries eat themselves, that's when you run into problems. It's a reactant problem, it's...
I've seen plate holders for other vehicles that support off the bottom of something and angle up but I don't know if any work for the maverick uet. I'd rather have one that didnt interfere with any component operation (yes even a little). Diffused choked off airflow isnt the same as direct...
Or people who like to be able to drive when it's cold out. Its a pretty major flaw EVs have currently. They can use their own energy to keep the battery hot enough to react but you wouldnt want to rely on them for an emergency. Which hurts. Hybrids get around this EV flaw and the range flaw...
