  1. Theres no market for 4 door pickups...

Trucks just weren’t quite lifestyle vehicles back then. In the 1990s the status cars were coupes, sports cars, etc. As people aged and found those cars hard to get in and out of — and they moved to homes and started going to Home Depot every weekend — four door trucks became the anti-minivan...
  2. Time to call it...

I'll just add in my $.02. Clearly this transaction works out well for the dealer, as he's offloading one vehicle, getting in another he can markup and resell, and he's getting some cash on the hood, too. So that should tell you something. Second, you're trading based on fear but turning a...
  3. No garage door opener on 2025 Maverick ?

I didn't read through all the replies, but in case it hasn't been mentioned, get one of these things from Chamberlin for $20. You can then open your garage door from anywhere with your phone or Apple Watch. Hugely convenient when riding bikes, coming home on foot, letting someone in, taking out...
  4. How bright are the Maverick headlights?

I'm impressed with the brightness and the auto-high beam function... always seems to work fine for me. And in 17K miles I don't think anyone has ever flashed their lights at me. Now, that all said, I'm in FL where there are a few mitigating factors: The roads are all flat and straight, so...
  5. Who uses a “Foam Cannon” for pressure washers?

I use one to pre-soak/suds my boat when I already have the pressure washer out to do a real cleaning, but it's not worth the time and trouble to set up the PW and foam cannon for just a car wash. A quality car soap and wash mitt (I use stuff from Adam's) is just as effective and a lot easier.
  6. Ford patent on midgate type opening

I think it could definitely have some usefulness.
  7. Ford patent on midgate type opening

Saw this on TheAutopian today. Seems interesting. https://www.theautopian.com/patent-suggests-ford-may-finally-give-the-maverick-the-one-thing-it-truly-needs/
  8. Florida Free Front Floormats

Just about new front floor mats from my 2022 XLT. Took them out of the truck at about 200 miles. Free for anyone that wants to pick them up in Punta Gorda, FL.
  9. My theory of Mavericks getting rear ended

Thought… could it be us? I mean, a lot of us drive these trucks slowly and gently as watching the mpgs is a sport of its own. So maybe we’re dawdling a bit more than average traffic and getting tagged by the faster flowing drivers?
  10. CV axle poll

I can see why there's interest in this poll, but really, it's not going to give you any reliable numbers. I mean, people that have had CV issues will jump in to vote, but many people that haven't had CV issues -- or even heard of them -- aren't nearly as likely to reply. So it's going to skew...
  11. Maverick makes a good hurricane evacuation vehicle…

Thanks for asking. We were very fortunate in that we ended up with 8 inches of water in the garage, but nothing in the house. So many people lost so much more. The one silver lining is that people down here really come together after a tragedy. The amount of neighbors helping neighbors – and...
  12. 2022 vs 2025 Maverick

That's very kind of your dealer to make you an offer so that he can end up with even more of your money. Seriously, if what you have is working for you, keep it and save your money. A few tweaks to the features or numbers on a spec sheet aren't going to mean jack once the excitement of a new...
  13. Maverick makes a good hurricane evacuation vehicle…

Thanks for the Thoughts and words of wisdom, everyone.
  14. Maverick makes a good hurricane evacuation vehicle…

We’re in Ft Lauderdale, Broward county. Expecting some wind and rain here, but not much more (hopefully!)
  15. Maverick makes a good hurricane evacuation vehicle…

Sad to say we’ve had to run from Milton. But man, there's something comforting in knowing that a fueled-up Maverick hybrid will hold a lot of stuff take you a good 500+ miles in low speed stop and go traffic, and a five gallon jug of gas will give you another 200 miles of comfort. We're safe...
  16. The amount of cracked windshields is absurd.

I think it's just chance. I had an Audi A4 that somehow went through 4 windshields in the 10 years that I had it, and I had a Tacoma that got a chip with only 400 miles on it never spread or got another chip over the next 9 years. My Maverick's been fine over 2 years. Probably also varies...
  17. URGENT - First Oil Change?

I dunno -- if a dealer is telling you NOT to come spend money with them, I might just accept their reasoning as the truth. Unless you have some "first X oil changes on us" package, but even still I'd think you'd be using up a free oil change needlessly.
  18. My Custom Lego Maverick

Very cool! Easily identifiable as a Maverick.
  19. Annoying noise coming from dash

My 22 does it, too. Driving me nuts at this point; I'm going to ask the dealer to address it at the next oil change.
