Wouldn’t you want there to be a fuse protecting the wire for heating elements? I’m curious how many amps at 12v it pulls, and what gauge wire is needed?
Ohhhh I misunderstood, no the tailgate doesn’t have it’s own sensor, just the front doors do. So you’d have to walk to the door to tap, then walk back to the unlocked tailgate to open it.
I did it, mine works, that guy doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing…
He wired your “accessory” (ignition only) hard wire into a “constant battery” fuse. I’m guessing he just left the constant battery hardwire un-terminated in there so you could possibly get another fuse tap and get it done...
Lower outdoor temperatures definitely gives your MPG a big wack in the first 5-10 minutes of driving before engine (and battery also I guess) heats up to optimal working temperatures. That's why my mpg is on the bottom of the curve at 34mpg since my normal commute is just 5 minutes. I often had...
Sweet how's it working? Just a note about parking mode -- I found the "motion sensing" didn't work that way I expected, or at least in my quick testing it didn't reliably pick me up as I walked around. Parking mode will use basically the same amount of power no matter what setting you use --...
Is there an objectively good windshield wiper fluid that you would suggest?
What makes it better than the bottom-barrel swill?
On that note, what do you treat the inside and outside of your windows with?
Like others will probably tell you, first step with Carplay issues is to try a different known good cable, then a third just in case. After that, the unique troubleshooting can begin, and people will still ask you to try another OEM Apple cable just in case lol
It's essentially the same as any other vehicle, there are jump points for the 12v battery (positive lead, and body ground) under the hood, but the actual 12v battery is under the rear passenger seat, accessible from inside rather than outside. I actually haven't popped open mine to look at how...
We mentioned Yakima Overhaul HD, which is the 19” to 30” extendable, compatible with Truxedo Elevate TS Rails with a $140 adapter kit allegedly (which would then work with quite a few truxedo covers), but I’ve scraped the internet and can’t find a picture of one so far using the Overhaul with...
Mine was built Sept 13 (first day of production), i received it Jan 14. That’s 120 days or so? It’s all good battery-system-wise, I do understand how it drives you mad though to know tve truck is just sitting there 🤯
The remote start feature with the app uses the cellular modem in the truck. All Mavericks have this modem. Ford and AT&T have an agreement that these modems can use the cell phone network to send the small amount of data necessary for Ford app features even if you do not subscribe to the WiFi...
Eh, you’ll probably be fine… statistically. These are anomalies so far. Maybe we can check out if the rate of Ford Focus hybrid the last few years have any large rates of battery issues. I’m betting there are some, but not enough to conclude you should expect to have battery issues.
