I did this mod this weekend. Was really easy. I had never tapped holes before using a thread tap. Took about 15 minutes to tap all the holes. Was surprised at how easy it was. Toughest part was cutting the bedliner plastic. Used a utility knife. The flange depth is slightly more than the...

What do you mean by bed spacer? The holes in the drop in liner are not big enough to fit the flange for the tie down. The bed liner has to be cut to get the flange to sit flat. Am I missing something?

I haven't noticed any funny braking on my hybrid. Very consistent.

I’ve never tapped holes before so that will be new to me.

I have the parts arriving tomorrow and hope to do this mod this weekend if I find enough time. I do have the drop in liner so I'll post about how the plates fit in the already existing hole. Fingers crossed that no cutting is required.

Did you have to cut the bedliner to get the plates for the tie downs to fit?
