  1. Ground location near the fuse box for hardwire kits?

I used this one under the passenger kick panel and used the blue/red wire for constant 12v and the yellow/green for switched 12v (both about 4-6” above the ground)
  2. Reality check: Running 18-gauge 3-wire from fuse box to moonroof, dashcam and auto-dimming mirror from one 5amp run?

Line is on the bottom, load is on the top on #20. I used the blue/red wire on the bottom loom for 12v and the yellow/green wire from the bottom loom for switched.
  3. Changing default drive mode

OK, mine in eco does this: floor it at 65 mph, count 1,2 and then go baby go. Probably 2/10 of a second after the potentiometer is opened until the torque from the traction motor hits the ground.
  4. ForScan mod - enable all drive modes: eco, sport, mud and snow (confirmed working)

Sport mode is a pretty drastic difference on my vehicle. One-touch disabling of traction control can get me through the deep stuff when I need to (it can also get me buried to the frame...) For the daily commute, it's pretty much "Eco" all the time. Haven't towed yet, but imagine that tow/haul...
  5. So, you are now Director of Maverick Colors

This is Henry: "You can have any color you want as long as it is black"
  6. What's your Maverick's name / nickname?

  7. New CVT on the way?

2005 FEH, 98,000 miles. Changed oil every 3,000. Changed 12V battery at 10 years. 3rd set of tires. Replaced front brake hoses and lower control arms. Traction battery is oem. Replaced battery coolant pump. Replaced a/c scroll compressor. Replaced transfer case. Clean battery fan and...
  8. New CVT on the way?

Sprint cars are direct drive and push to start!
  9. ForScan mod - enable all drive modes: eco, sport, mud and snow (confirmed working)

OK, went out and found some ruts and deep snow. Both modes disable traction control and pure ev. Deep snow/sand allows for major wheelspin. The little green downhill truck icon came on in rut/mud mode going downhill in ruts but it seemed about the same level of “engine” braking as eco mode...
  10. "Change the Brake Fluid"

On the mavericks with the electric brake booster, plan on acquiring a pressure bleeder. This is required maintenance on a very expensive system for parts. If you dilute, try to bleed with the pedal or try to use suction at the caliper, undesirable results will occur.
  11. Changing default drive mode

Like waiting for a turbo to spool...
  12. Question for our angrier club members

You have been sentenced to Anger Management for Maverick pre-owners.
  13. Question for our angrier club members

I’m a grumpy old fart. I Like my hybrid maverick. It was worth the wait. I have enjoyed the forum and found it to be quite helpful as a solace during the half year patience trial. Hopefully, this place in cyberspace will become an archive for all things Maverick for future generations to peruse.
  14. Hybrid Power Meter and Brake Coach Usage (Video)

Biggest mileage gain for me was turning off the climate control. Brake coach and power needle don’t do much for me. But, we have had a ford escape hybrid and a prius since the mid 2000s. Hypermileing is probably very annoying to folks in a hurry. 40+ psi for tire pressure. Avoid velocity...
  15. Why I went with XL Poverty Edition

Well, my XL now has 4 ford options: Almost full-size spare, 400W inverter, 4-pin hitch and 2 new steering wheel switches that provide factory cruise control with 3 forscan lines of code. Planning to add lane assist, traffic sign recognition and a ford roll-up cover. Contemplating a maverick...

  17. 2.5 liter for the Maverick only?

I respectfully disagree. I bought a 2005 FEH new and still have it today. While it is a 4 cylinder atkinson cycle engine, the displacement is 2.3 liters.
