  1. Dealership greed

I've walked out of two dealers because they added $1K to the advertised price for not having a trade-in they wanted to keep. In one case, the trade was a 2011 Fusion SEL with 100K miles and the other was no trade-in at all. Two other dealers got our business instead.
  2. Dealer offered add ons

I'm pretty certain that you can get any of that stuff done by a professional detailer at lower cost and probably better quality. IMHO, anything you can do that will legitimately protect the vehicle cosmetics is worth doing if you plan to keep it long term. I had mine rustproofed and undercoated...
  3. Realtruck provides completely useless bed extender

Some bed extenders are designed to telescope in or out depending on the width needed. I can't tell if that one does. It looks like Rough Country makes one, although it doesn't come up on their website that I could find. Lund may make the Ford one but it may be under exclusive contract that...
  4. 2025 Maverick refresh and other rumors (from display manager at auto show)

Honestly, I didn't even think of it in spite of how many times it's been mentioned here. I humbly ask forgiveness. ;)
  5. What would you like Ford to offer as an option on the Maverick

Memory seats and full Sync is all I'd really want to add to an XLT Lux.
  6. 2025 Maverick refresh and other rumors (from display manager at auto show)

I got mine the same way. Original customer came in to pick it up on a Wednesday afternoon, wife hated the color (VB) and so they refused it. I bought it off the lot Thursday morning with no ADM or required extras.
  7. 2025 Maverick refresh and other rumors (from display manager at auto show)

He checked; there were no dealer stock Mavericks in the area. There was a prototype available but it had been through some rough treatment and Ford didn't consider it worthy of display. He mentioned that they have sold display vehicles in the past.
  8. 100% stock or customize.

My experience has been that tasteful modifications can increase value or make it easier to sell. Modifications that are done poorly or that are extreme stylistically will hurt value and make it harder to sell. When it's time to sell, there will be thousands of stock trucks out there...
  9. Sad Maverick Owner. So mad at Ford...

As a former driving instructor, the rule of thumb I was taught (and taught my students) was that you should still be able to see the rear tires of the vehicle ahead touching the ground. That leaves enough distance to avoid getting pushed into the vehicle ahead by a rear-ender and enough room to...
  10. 2025 Maverick refresh and other rumors (from display manager at auto show)

Consider how many of the old Rangers were sold with an extended cab or standard cab. There's a market there, but I agree it's not the primary market. As a retiree whose kids are off on their own, I'd rather have more bed length than a perpetually empty back seat. Jeep did a concept of this...
  11. How was your dealer experience!

My experience with Gervais Ford in Ayer, MA was great. We bought a refused order off the lot with no ADM, no required add-ons, and a simple no-pressure conversation in the finance office. Doc fees and RMV/DMV costs are standard but the doc fee varies by what states allow. Our doc fee was...
  12. 2025 Maverick refresh and other rumors (from display manager at auto show)

I spent some time in the Ford booth at the Northeast Auto Expo today. The show itself wasn't all that much but I did get to have an interesting conversation with a Ford representative whose Ford name badge identified him as a Display Manager. The first topic of conversation was the lack of a...
  13. Ford back to early 80's with Maverick pricing...

As mentioned above, fuel costs were the primary advantage that helped imports break into the market along with better reliability, better fit and finish, and more value for the money. Take a look at what Honda and Toyota were offering in the mid-1980's model years and compare to what the Big 3...
  14. Got a 2024 chili pepper red tremor XLT could use some advice about best places and ways to sell it, pricing etc situation changed

Most of us paid MSRP. Some paid more to avoid a long wait. I'd follow through with the Carvana's of the world and see what happens. The market has cooled but you may still get a decent offer due to it being a Tremor. Private sales can present challenges such as banks being tougher on private...
  15. Does the Yeti tumbler program for airbag recall exist?

I got the tumbler after getting the side curtain airbags done last April.
  16. C1 HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Kit For 2022+ Ford Maverick | Diode Dynamics

I had a really nice American Eagle snap-fit hitch plug. Operative word being "had". Someone else has it now because they pressed in the snap fit side mounts and walked away with it. At least with a locking hitch pin, I don't have to worry about losing a $120 light. It was smart to allow both...
  17. Old man wonders about Marti Report?

According to their website, they only issue reports up to 2017. https://www.martiauto.com/martireports.cfm
  18. Trade-in 2022 w/ 14k miles for 2024?

If the only thing you're losing is BAP, but keeping $10K in your pocket, then keep the 2022. The concern about long term motor health may prove legitimate but I think it's unlikely. In any case, if it turns out to be an issue, you can trade in then when you'll likely be able to buy a Maverick...
  19. Will I be Disappointed With A Retractable Cover

As much as I like Retrax (I used to sell them and had one on my 2012 F-350), I wouldn't give up that much bed space on the Maverick. I went with a hard roll-up, the Truxedo Sentry. I still get the security of a hard cover, the same ease of operation, and access to the entire bed without losing...
