Just looked at my original sticker for my XL and it doesn't show any tire size, pretty sure this only shows because it's an optional tire size as part of a package. I'm sure the Mavericks with the wheel and tire upgrade for the machined aluminum wheels with the Falken wildpeaks also show tire size.
I'll never understand how some of the vehicles with clear title branding, accident/flood history etc make it on to BAT and then how much people pay for them even with subject matter experts in the comments pointing out the issues.
Just wanted to chime in on this thread. Believe it or not but the module that allows hill descent control to work only exists in IPCs from Mavericks optioned with the FX4 package. Even though the Lariat ecoboost has the 6.5" productivity screen and the off road screen can be turned on, it has a...
There's nothing more cringe to me when it comes to mods than stickers from packages and trims that someone's vehicle doesn't have. I even have the 6.5" FX4 instrument cluster and hill descent control working on my XL AWD and I would still never put FX4 stickers on it.
Ford has a very long history of these things failing. At first they were non serviceable but now at least they have the ability to change the fluid. I would change it more frequently than the service manual calls for especially if you engage the AWD regularly. Also remember that it sits just...
You never really know, my priority code was 19 and I ordered just before the order bank closed in 2022 and I had it in just over 4 months from the time I ordered.
Keep in mind as well that this hinges on whether or not their Ford dealer entered their email address at time of order. Some dealers forward the order confirmation after putting in their own email address and they may not forward subsequent emails. Then some people wonder why they never received...
That's probably when actual production of MY24 orders will start but I would imagine scheduling for them will start before then, Ford needs to plan the logistics of the orders meaning they will know well before production starts which orders are planned to be produced when MY24 production begins...
Just remember that dealerships are not obligated to honor X plan but the honorable dealerships will. X plan only saved me a few hundred off the cost of my XL Maverick but I saved $800 on "doc fees" since X plan limited those to $100 so all in I saved about $1100 on my purchase.
Make sure you...
Ford has never prioritized based on order date, the first in first out was nothing more than PR garbage. They need to keep their top performing dealers happy which means that those dealers will get priority and lower performing dealers will get treated like a red headed step child. Remember that...
There are so many posts here documenting the green hue to the break in oil. They put green UV dye in it for leak detection with a UV light at the factory. It's normal.....
It's one of the cheapest vehicles available on the market built in what will probably be one of the worst time periods for vehicle reliability (COVID). Inflation has caused manufacturers to cut corners and source parts from cheaper vendors. This is on top of the fact that the Maverick was...
This is my third Ford, you don't buy them for quality and craftmanship, especially not one of the cheapest vehicles on the market. You buy it for value.....
The continentals are a good road tire that provide a balance of low noise and good rolling resistance. My father has almost 10k on his continentals and they are wearing great and he says they are still very quiet and great in the rain. I think their biggest downfall is the weak sidewalls which...
Unfortunately you cannot remedy a change in scrub radius with a wider tire. Scrub radius is correlated to the centerline of the tire contact patch which will always be the same as the centerline of the wheel. What I'm saying is that a 225/75R16 tire on a 16x7 +15 wheel is going to have the same...
I've read at the severe expense of wet and snow performance, just echoing what I've read here. Mostly hasn't been great and I'm baffled by Ford's choice to go with the Pirellis on the FX4 package.
I don't blame people for not wanting to run a +15 offset, more wear and tear on wheel bearings, ruined scrub radius which means potentially dangerous handling under emergency braking situations. It also makes sense why tirerack and discount tire say no 16" wheels would work since they would...
