mmm, i find it useful for the adaptive cruise... it doesn't just put the pedal to the floor when it needs to speed up, say going around a slow moving vehicle after the Mav slows down. more gradual acceleration which improves economy...

I've done both as well and I don't think it made too much of a difference... maybe it changed the pitch of the sewing machine... I might try that additional insulating material under the hood insulation. It does look better... When I pop the hood it doesn't look like an unfinished engine bay...
