  1. Saw CYBER TRUCK on the road

THE KING IS DEAD! LONG LIVE THE KING! The Aztek is no longer the ugliest vehicle ever built!!!
  2. SoCal dealer South Bay Ford admits mess up, still threatens to cancel and sell with markup if I don't take it today

My first reaction was for you to blast this dealership in every possible forum, even naming names. Then I remembered my only "squeaky wheel gets the grease" experience. I took my year-old 1972 Montego in for a repair. When the work was done, the cost was THREE TIMES the estimate. I got no...
  3. $39k XL hybrid at Earndardt Ford Chandler AZ

The more I hear from the folks on here, and the experiences I had with my dealer with my recall and my bad battery, I THINK I MAY HAVE THE BEST FORD DEALER IN AMERICA, Century Ford, in Mt. Airy, Maryland.
  4. Who Has Replaced Their OEM Battery With an Aftermarket Battery?

Thanks, OB. I expect that Ford replaced the battery with a like one, so I want to be ready when the day comes to replace it. I am psyching myself for the $220 Die Hard.
  5. Who Has Replaced Their OEM Battery With an Aftermarket Battery?

Thanks for the quick response. I can only tell you this: 1. I don't even know what Blue Teeth are. 2. I have had no Deep Sleep issues, but I start my truck every day. 3. Ford had to replace my 12-volt battery after about 6 months. But, I have learned on this forum that my next change will...
  6. Made mistake

But still in matters vegetable and animal and mineral, I am the very model of a modern major general.
  7. Who Has Replaced Their OEM Battery With an Aftermarket Battery?

You guys help me out; I am confused. I have a smart phone, but I only use it as a dumb phone. I know nothing about apps. The day I picked up my XL hybrid, my dealer and sister fixed it to that I could have a telephone conversation just by pushing a button on my steering wheel, as long as my...
  8. $39k XL hybrid at Earndardt Ford Chandler AZ

It would be a shame if this dealership burnt to the ground.
  9. Good Floor Mats For The Price

I can add a little info here. I bought the Weathertech set for my Hybrid XL. WEATHERTECH DOES NOT MAKE A REAR-SEAT MAT IN ITS HYBRID SET. This may be something to consider if you have folks using your rear seat. Yours looks like a nice set.
  10. XL hybrid at GrandFather Mountain NC

Man, your post takes me back. Back in my college days (Greensboro, NC), I took my girlfriend for a ride on the Parkway, with its 35 MPH speed limit, in my Datsun 1600, a nice little sports car. Coming down a downhill grade, I downshifted from 4th to 3rd, which of course increased my RPMs. At...
  11. Spare Tire standard equipment?

To reinforce brielee's post, to save space, back in the early 1970's, manufacturers went to the inflatable "donut" tire. (My 1970 Barracuda convertible was the only car I ever had with one.) But then, the fix-a-flat cans started EXPLODING in the trunks of cars. So, I don't know how long they...
  12. Radar Tires

WOW!! You and General Patton!!!!! Out of my way, soldier, goddammit!!!
  13. Another change I noticed in my 2023 vs my 2022 Maverick Hybrid

I have a downhill drive every time I leave my apartment, and the light comes on every time, in my 2022 XL. But, it seems like it is actually applying the brake rather than just coasting. I may be wrong... Actually, I appreciate it, as the speed limit in my apartment complex is 20 (TWENTY!!!)...
  14. What is the slot for?

You-all have opened my eyes. I had assumed that it was for credit card(s), which I keep in my wallet anyway. Live and learn.
  15. Three new 2023 Mavericks on my dealer's lot

I concur about HF. When I retired and moved to Allen, TX, and bought a Triumph TR3B, I spent about $1,000 there. Their tools might not be satisfactory for a professional mechanic, but they more than satisfied my needs, particularly their electrical stuff. God bless Horrible Fright. I think...
  16. Three new 2023 Mavericks on my dealer's lot

Yes, you know that you have arrived when you have a "Horrible Fright" in town I used to judge a city by whether or not it had a Sears. Now, that is no longer viable. So, I judge a town by whether or not it has a Sonic drive-in. Growing up in California (thru the 10th grade in 1958), I had my...
  17. Vin number scrapped?

Well, it sounds like the dealer may cut you some slack on the price. Then again, we could be spitting in the wind, but here is my reasoning. Fifty years ago, I bought a set of Dunlop tires for my Datsun 1600 sports car from NTW, with the usual 40K-mile guarantee. The tires were CRAP, and...
  18. Three new 2023 Mavericks on my dealer's lot

BradnChristine, your Gillette WY post put a chill down my spine and a tear in my eye. Growing up in the SF Bay Area, every year our family vacation took us to the western states, as my Dad was an Oklahoma native. In 1956 or 57, our 1954 Ford station wagon would shake like the dickens when my...
  19. 2022 Front brake issues

This is a curse of disc brakes, and it will remain forever. Just sitting overnight, there is enough humidity in the air to put a fine coat of "rust" on the discs. The first time you brake, it will remove the coat. The other curse: drive thru water deep enough to get the discs wet, put on the...
  20. Vin number scrapped?

What does your DEALER have to say. It is usually the dealer who has to bail out the mother company, as THEY are the ones who have to deal with the customer and want the customer to come back, and not leave with a bad taste in his/her mouth. FWIW, good luck.
