  1. New maverick tips to longevity

Oil changes are like politics or religion in the vehicle forums. Best to try and avoid the subject. I am going to diverge just a little bit from the "read the manual" response. I would make the first oil change sooner than later to dump out the break in stuff that is floating around in the...
  2. Bear damaged my Maverick

    Man, the picnic basket...
  3. 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid review (coming from a 2023 Lariat Hybrid)

I just got out of a Tesla to come to a Maverick and I am glad to be done with it. No way to realistically compare what someone can do with the Maverick and Tesla M3/MY. Maybe the Cybertruck, but not my cup of tea. I think the Maverick will be a better choice for me personally. Congrats on...
  4. Auto Stop/Start may be going away (per EPA)

I am coming to the Mav from an EV. Been driving EVs for quite some time. I would not mind an EREV version of the Maverick. Enough battery to mostly be driving in electric mode but onboard power to make sure the battery stays in the sweet state of charge meaty center of the battery and to be...
  5. Auto Stop/Start may be going away (per EPA)

I was just listening to Autoline talking about this issue. It does not sound like it is going away, but the manufacturers aren't going to get the tax break or incentive for having it. It will be completely up to the manufacturer if they want to include the feature. Now if the manufacturers...
  6. 2025 Hybrid Gear Ratios & HF45 Transaxle Technical Info

Still waiting for my truck to be built, but I will add my info once I have it. Curious what that means for engine RPM at any given speed. Does the engine sound like it is turning a higher RPM at highway speeds in the 25?
  7. Has anyone ever regretted getting a XL?

I am on a road trip right now in the midwest. As I am still waiting for my ManBearPig Mav to be built I was Maverick spotting today on my way through MO/IA/IL. Lots of Mavericks out there on the road. It is funny I never noticed them until now. Very strange how that works. One thing I did...
  8. Weird locking of doors by my 2025 Maverick XLT. Other weird stuff!

Not to derail the thread, but once upon a time I had a truck that had the lock, unlock buttons on the armrest. I was only locked out of that truck about 3 times by my dogs... Just about the time I would remember and try to get back it was too late. Once with the truck running. Thankfully I...
  9. Has anyone ever regretted getting a XL?

Back in the day when I had to commute long miles and drove a lot additional creature comforts would have been worth optioning up for. Today since I don't drive that much cruise control and AC is all I really need and I am happy. Other creature comforts are just icing on the cake. I did option...
  10. The May 8th Scheduling Info

If you aren't a subscriber to the Long McArthur Youtube channel they are a great resource. Tim is laying out what they expect to get scheduled tomorrow May 8th. He spells out what Ford says is constrained and what they say they are looking for in the orders. It is very helpful if you have...
  11. Looking to buy 25 AWD Hybrid - Have these issues been remedied?

Any time there is a design change or update there are always new things that come up. So if you want to avoid the unknown then it might pay to wait for a 26. The body cavity thing is a design thing that you will have to decide if you want to buy the aftermarket part to cover it. Probably too...
  12. drive axle failure

To be honest I was really interested in getting a 2024 as I preferred the grill, and dash of the truck to the 2025. But after digging around here on the forum it is the CV issues and a couple of other reported oddities that pushed me to just order the 2025 where they "may" have fixed some of...
  13. Saying goodbye to my Mav. The good, the bad and the ugly of upgrading from a Maverick

I think a lot of us would love to see an old school Ranger built again, but sadly does not look like it is in the cards. The new Ranger is as large as my old F150. So not a small truck for sure and may be the best compromise for people who need a truck, but don't need SD/HD truck ability or...
  14. About to cancel order!

I like a story with a happy ending. So did they have to retrieve that truck from IA or was it a case of mistaken identity? Nice looking truck you have there! For all of the issues you had getting your truck I hope they took care of you to compensate for the situation.
  15. 2025 Maverick Hybrid HF55 Transaxle Info (nice write up)

It sounds like an improvement. Looking forward to trying it out.
  16. 2025 Maverick Hybrid HF55 Transaxle Info (nice write up)

Seems like the article must be missing some details. Seems strange they would say the power is up, but the combined stated power remains the same. Maybe just laying the groundwork for the PHEV version. I would assume they are parts binning this across to the Escape as well. It would be nice...
  17. 2025 Maverick Hybrid HF55 Transaxle Info (nice write up)

As with any time "new stuff" is introduced there are always the undesirable consequences. It sounded like they needed the beef for the AWD support. Sounds like they probably should have bumped up the battery size a bit as well. Devil is always in the details.
  18. April 2025 - Maverick Sales & Production: 20,183 Sold / 16,027 Produced!

Autoline is saying there is a rush of people trying to buy what they can before the price increases, or availability becomes an issue. They stated everyone is expecting the pull forward of sales is going to flat line shortly.
  19. Doors locks problems

You don't happen to have a key inside the truck do you? I know on previous vehicles I have owned with the key fob push button start the truck knew if there was a key inside the vehicle and wouldn't let me lock the doors. Good thing because it kept me from locking myself out a couple of times...
  20. Total brake failure in 23 maverick with 8000 miles on it

Please do let us know what the dealer says failed. I preferred the older style e-brake that is a mechanical mechanism and was was easy to reach, and pull even when you might be panic'd. Sometimes simple just works. It may not be pretty, or fit in with the design esthetic but it has a purpose...
