You can't use the throttle to push past red-line, but I guarantee you can over-rev it. Head down a big mountain and put it in a low gear and it'll climb past red-line. You may or may not be able to down-shift over-rev as well. Automatics won't permit either of those.

It did, which I removed beforehand and put some blue threadlocker on. The anchor nut has indents that are supposed to grab the inside rim of the tailgate to prevent free spinning as the bolt turns, but mine really didn't want to and kept spinning out.
